Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

With this ESPN Integration.Does that mean we will get a game with real tv camera angles and a new type of presentation and everything.Or does this just mean there will be only the ESPN comemntary?

I was checking the official Live 07 forums and I noticed how everyone are bitching about graphics. I find that disgraceful. People like that make EA think that we're all about graphics, not gameplay.
I see how that list mentions 'next gen' way too much, so I have my concerns how that list could apply only for next gen console versions. However, I don't exactly care what kind of a game owners of X-Box 360 or PS3 play, as long as we get improved gameplay and dynasty mode. Who's with me?
Sun Jun 25, 2006 8:21 pm
as Jing said i would really like there to be a skills challenge in the allstar weekend
and with the ESPN thing, i think it'll just mention it before the game, at breaks and on replays-nothing much...

nice to see dynasty mode mentioned. At least that signals it should be in ALL versions. Really don't see why 360 couldn't have had a basic dynasty mode, but oh well. I'm sure specifics will come shortly.

The Dynasty better be as deep as WE hope its going to be because if it isn't, EA will have a lot of angry customers to deal with which will hurt their revenue. For them to say a DEEPER Dynasty, it better be deep like Madden or even better. They have to at least keep up with 2K and even pass them! They have to have everything 2K6 had plus a summer league, MLE, sign other teams coaches, all year scouting, free agent system has to change so that you offer them a contract at the same time that other teams offer contracts, like the way it is in Madden and MVP 2005. Just because you offer someone a contract, doesn't mean their not considering offers from other teams, and if they don't accept your offer, it should show you which team offered them the best contract and for how much. The free agents should also consider playing time, money, prestege, other players on team, odds of winning a championship, and maybe they want to be on a rebuilding team.

Good point. In live 06, you just click resign on the default amount and there's your player. There's very little to it in terms of variety and challenge. Madden's features would be helpful at least. A multiplayer dynasty would be the ultimate topper. And how about the ability to coax a guy into playing "one more year"? I mean, I've seen players retire with ratings still in the high 90s. Also, the CPU rookies have got to be more interesting. Let users sort guys
alphabetically, for one. Then put back the old text scouting reports like "solid at the charity stripe" and "won't block many shots". Let us see their cyberface in the menu. Don't do what ESPN did with blending of faces like Hoiberg and Mike Miller, that's just a little eerie, just give regular players their real-life pictures and give CPU guys their cyberface, not the faceless head. Who wants to play 20 years of dynasty just to see the whole league is full of faceless people.

you have to press the right analog stick up and down to dribble, and left or right to carry.

You're right. Most of the mistakes Live 06 has and make me go crazy are easily fixable. Why not put NBA.com type of stats into the game? Why shouldn't we able to see player's career stats? Why no MLE? Why no limit for max contracts? What about multiple team trades? Why not bettering FA/Dynasty AI? Why having generic rookies, if they could made a pool of players for the next 20 years (that would prevent players with wierd skill points distribution from happening and we could actually get more realistic drafts with real future superstars on the top, not 3 6'6 PF's in the top 10)? Does are the things we actually care about, not how realistic Lebron looks.

Features sound almost exactly like live 06. I guess they are holding back the good information for later.
Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:30 am
Well I didn't buy 06, and by the looks of it, I won't be buying 07.
Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:52 am
That's silly, because as much as you can complain about live 06, the difference between live 05 and live 07, is quite a bit.......

two versions of the game will sorta split the modding community because the mods will only be compatible with one verison...i dont think its that great of an idea...

Not to mention resolution and details can be lowered to improve performance for older and mid-range video cards. I doubt
any company would produce two versions of the same game for the same platform, one for high-end PC users and one suited for older PCs. I'm sorry, but of all the things to criticise EA for, that has to make the least amount of sense.

Andrew, that's EXACTLY what I was going to say. We can bitch and complain all we want about EA, but that's getting a little ridiculous.
BTW, does anyone know what happened to the dynasty ticker? I can't even remember I think it was live 2004... I really liked it and thought it was a cool touch, but then it disappeared the next year.
Tue Jun 27, 2006 2:43 am
Still, they give very little information out. Based on what is this "official" word, well you really can't say anything. These are the marketing department phrases that are tooled up to attract new and old players into buying the new game.
These sentences do not carry much weight... Only the fact that dynasty is mentioned there is probably a good sign... But will believe it when we hear more about it.

yeah, Yohance seems to be a very optimistic person, dispite EA's long history.

I'm 99% sure it disappeared before 2004.
Professional opinion inquiry: What do you really think 'deeper than ever' dynasty mode means?
Tue Jun 27, 2006 5:51 am
I don't want to sound like a Live N00b, but what was the "dynasty ticker"?
Tue Jun 27, 2006 5:53 am
A little bar with various league news displayed on your NBA Live screen during games. A sports ticker it was.
Was a pretty nifty thing.

Right on!! It gets so boring after when you can't relate to the players you have on your team anymore because they all have black faces. Even FIFA shows a face for rookie generated players. EA says they have a deeper Dynasty.... GIVE IT TO US! Because thats what we're expecting.
Tue Jun 27, 2006 7:39 am
I think the new FSS will be the ability to rotate between FSS while paying the game... Ex. Bron being able to be a power player or highflyer by tapping up on the control pad.

No, it was NBA Live 2004. It didn't return in NBA Live 2005 or NBA Live 06 though.
I'm hesitant to speculate on what it means at this point as I could be setting myself up for disappointment, but my first impression was that some of the little things we've been asking for every year have been added and that existing features have been beefed up a bit with a bit more depth (much more to free agent negotiations, for example).

I know you say EA browses our forums occasionally, but do you get a conformation that they look at our entire wishlist every year?
