Deleting a player from Dynasty

Well, to keep it short, here's my problem.

I started a Dynasty and I'm currently in the 2006-2007 season. I noticed that I forgot to erase a created player in the FA pool. Now he was signed by a team and puts up incredible numbers. I want to erase him to keep it realistic as I intend to start a Dynasty Story with the 06/07 Bobcats.

Is there a way to completely delete the player (currently with the rockets) via dbf-editing? Just deleting him in the players.dbf did not work.

Open players.dbf and erase all of his info, including his Apearance ID.

That's what I did. I erased every info regarding him in players.dbf, there's nothing left. But he's still in the game.

Change his TEAM and CASH_TEAM to 32 (Retired). That should do the trick.
