New NLSC Roster Update (v1.09) released

Postby Andrew on Thu Jul 03, 2003 5:32 pm

I've completed version 1.08 of the current roster update for NBA Live 2003, and you can download it here.

Please note that this is the first update for the offseason. Not all rookies have correct jersey numbers, the Dstats still require updating, and there's plenty of offseason left to go so there'll be more transactions to make in the near future. It is not recommended you start a new Franchise with these rosters just yet.

Some of the features of v1.08 include:
- Rosters updated through July 3rd, 2003
- 56 of the 58 draft picks added
- Quite a few players have updated ratings
- Retired players have been deleted

I've included a tweaked version of the roster as usual, but the "uninjured" version will remain the same as the regular version of the rosters throughout the offseason. I have not added Nedzad Sinanovic or Xue Yuyang as I am yet to find info on Sinanovic, and Yuyang is not expected to play in the NBA this year.

All first round picks have been placed on their respective teams. A few second round picks have also been added to their team's roster, but most of them remain in the free agent pool. I will shuffle this around as rookies and free agents sign with teams.

I have made the first pass in updating player ratings. I'll probably do this a few times during the offseason. I'll also be happy to fix up any player appearances as well as adding headbands and other accessories. I hope to update the Dstats by the next version, and I'll attempt to improve the overall team rankings.

Please use the Live 2003 NLSC Roster Patch Issues forum for any feedback, suggestions, corrections etc. :)

I've double-checked, and the file has definitely been uploaded.

From time to time, FilePlanet does return a 404 (File cannot be found) error. I have no idea why. I can confirm the file has definitely been uploaded. If you get the 404 error, go back to the download page and try again.

Nice work Andrew...that would've taken some time...much appriciated. (Y)

Although, i disagree with the ratings you gave to LeBron and Carmelo...What was your resource? nbadraft.net?

Oh, and, the download worked fine for me. (obviously) :)

Awesome Andrew......Ive been w8ing for these rosters a long time, I love it.

I also dont like Lebron´s and Carmelo´s ratings...I simulated a season and Lebron had a 6ppg avarage, Carmelo about the same...I have to boost em up a bit and see what happens

I appreciate your patch because you've included all the rookies (Y) ....but I totally disagree with all your ratings...the gameplay is so slow now...it is horrible its not fun anymore...everyone is so slow no one makes any shots...I know your trying to go for realism but don't cut out the fun factor and that's what you did....thanx for the rookies (Y) ....but no thanks for the sluggish gameplay (N) ....but the effort and time you put into the patch are appreciated

maybe you need to learn how to score better. set screens and get guys open for jumpshots. i dont think the pro's shoot 14-16 every game like i can when im using sped up crap rosters. you have to be really bad if you cant score with these rosters. i actually get realistic scores with them on 8 minute quaters (tweaked). using the normal rosters a guy put out with the rookies i was getting up to 70+ points a half. you might as well just playing NBA JAM if you want to hit every shot haha

There is both a tweaked version of the rosters that include the slower gameplay and the original settings with faster gameplay. Maybe you should take a look into it

Thanks for the feedback all. :)

No, I just looked at the stats and a couple of the scouting reports. I've already noted your corrections in the other thread.

but I totally disagree with all your ratings...the gameplay is so slow now...it is horrible its not fun anymore...everyone is so slow no one makes any shots...I know your trying to go for realism but don't cut out the fun factor and that's what you did

You must be using the tweaked roster because the version in slot 000 has the original speed and quickness ratings, and in most cases the original FG ratings as well. I only keep the tweaked version of the roster because people ask it. I prefer not to use tweaked rosters myself, so the most work is put into the normal version, which should not be slower because as I said, nearly all the players have their original speed and quickness ratings, and it's not tweaked.

I also dont like Lebron´s and Carmelo´s ratings...I simulated a season and Lebron had a 6ppg avarage, Carmelo about the same...I have to boost em up a bit and see what happens

Weird. I simulated a season to make sure there were no DBF errors (thankfully there weren't any) and LeBron averaged around 17 ppg. That kind of odd/random behaviour is more a problem with the simulation engine rather than the roster patch.

New NLSC Roster Update (v1.09) released

Postby Andrew on Sat Jul 12, 2003 5:39 pm

No need to make a new thread, so I'm adding to this one:

I've released version 1.09 of the roster update, as always you can download it here.

v1.09 adds final 2002/2003 season rosters and updates some rookie ratings and jersey numbers. I have been accepting suggestions posted in the v1.08 thread, but I have exercised my right to settle for my own changes for some players.

Version 1.10 will be out after July 16th when player movement begins. Even though we know that the Glove and the Mailman are heading to LA and Zo is likely going to become a Net, nothing is official yet so I haven't made any transactions except releasing Anthony Peeler and Jamal Sampson.

Comments, corrections and suggestions welcome in the Roster Patch Issues forum. :)

Hey Andrew, do u think u can add 1 year to the players years of experience and age so u dont have twice as many players going for rookie of the year?

I already did that in v1.08, for the 2003/04 rosters.
