Will Shawn Kemp Be in 07?

Sat Jun 10, 2006 9:20 am

Im sure we've all seen the rumours about Kemp signing with the Nuggets. If he doesn't sign with them though before the roster cut off, do u think they'll put him in free agency? I hope he's there, so I can reunite him and GP on Seattle and have them go for one final title run :D

I don't believe they would put him in there (if he doesn't get signed) just because he WANTS to make an NBA comeback.

If he's not there, you can always just create him.

I hope he is just so i can practice with him and see how bad he is.

He cannot legally be included unless he's signed to an NBA contract by the cut off date.

How about Penny Hardaway?

No one can legally be included in the game unless they're signed to an NBA contract by the cut off date or under contract to appear as part of the roster of Legends.

How are all those other guys in the free agents list then?

Sun Jun 11, 2006 2:23 pm

In most cases they've been signed to a contract and thus are able to appear in the game, but were cut by the time the rosters had to be finalised and so are in the Free Agent pool by default. You'll notice that Reggie Miller was a free agent in the default rosters of NBA Live 06 even though he retired, since he had a year left on his contract and as such was still able to be included in the game. It probably also allowed him to remain on the Legends roster for one more year.

Yay! because i idolize Reggie Miller, most likley the free agents roster would
look offical and up to date so as long as it is what is says "as accurate as of August 2007" then its all good.

Reggie Miller's contract has now expired so it's likely he won't be in the Legends roster this year.

Great news for all:

Tom Chambers will probably be in the legends team.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:25 pm

nope i dont think Shaun Kemp wil be

Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:36 pm

If they dont have him on a team I wouldnt mind him in free agents. I thought he was a great player when he played. i enjoyed watching him and payton on the sonics. maybe payton and kemp will both be free agents and I can sign them to wherever i want to.

Since he hasn't been included as a free agent or Legend in the last couple of releases, I expect he won't be in NBA Live 06 in either form. Unfortunately.

He said he was coming back to defend his title. I bet he signs a 1 year contract before the cutoff date. (Aug. 26 isnt it?)

My understanding is that whoever is signed to an NBA contract by the cut off date is eligible to be in the game, and that would seem to include players who have been cut but are still being paid out the remainder of their deals (such as Reggie Miller last year). So yes, if Gary Payton re-signs before the cut off he'll definitely be in the game.
