one hand pump fake?

Postby alcoholic_fever on Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:02 pm

i was playing Oscar Robertson in a 1 on 1 and he was right under the basket and he did several fakes to shoot it, and then all of a sudden he did this one hand fake  ... he held the ball with one hand and extended his arm up (like jordan used to do?) ... does anyone know how to do this?? :?:
i did it ONCE after.. in an individual practice.. but i can't seem to get it
HELP !
Thanks guys!

I believe it only happens when you're close the basket (and thus will automatically attempt a one handed shot).

That move has been a mystery in this forum in a while...

I for one havent been able to do it by myself, seen it with the little guys under the basket a couple of times though

oh, that move.
yeah, you can do it if you are using an outside scorer who can't do a windmil layup/switch-hand layup and instead of it he will do just those hurry shots, when he just looks like he throws the ball.
according to latest andrew rosters you can use either sam cassel, stephon marbury or oscar robertson.
all you need to do is just standing under the basket, and hold freestyle superstar button + tap pass/steal.
you'll get something like this:

yeah i've noticed marbury does it all the time. I was doing a knicks dynasty once and regularly i'd do the reverse FSS layup with crawford or the windmill or behind the back layup with him, and then i'd try the same thing with crawford and he'd just to throw the ball at the basket real quickly, and under the hoop i'd try to do the reverse layup and he'd do that 1 hand pump fake. He could still do the FSS jumpers though.

has anyone found out why people like cassell, marbury, and oscar robertson refuse to do the fss layups? has it got anything to do with the dbf editting and such? (not that i would be able to fix it since i play on ps2, just wondering)

i was wondering that too maybe one of their ratings isn't as high as the others players that can do the lay-ups
