Coming Up on A Legend Is Born...

So how did Sit get his job exactly? Does he have something that will let David Weaver catch him red-handed? Why did Jing Xu refuse to testify in court? And why did Vince Thompson talk to Al Harrington?

All these answers and much more will be answered in the next chapter of A Legend is Born.

Stay tuned for more guest appearances from Andrew ‘The X’ Watson, Al Harrington, David Weaver and a mystery NLSCer!

A Legend Is Born - Part II

The second installment of the 'Legend' series has been given a go. The decision was made as the first of three stories has garnered a decent ammount of support over the last 4 months and has thus been a success.

From the beginning, I wasn't very sure if this format of a dynasty would work. However, I have been fortunate enough to pick up a few dedicated followers and many people who probably might take a peek in here but don't post. Thank you to the supporters!

Being in the middle of this first of three stoires, there is still a long ways to go before we get to Part 2. I owuld like to be pelased to announce though, that ideas and the storyboard for A Legend Is Born Part 2 has been started to be worked on.

As you know, Chapter 8 has only just recently been released. Be prepared for a quicker succession of releases in the next 2 weeks as more time will be on my hands!

The projected ammount of chapters is around 15-20. Therefore, there will be at least 7 more chapters coming out in this thread!

Most decent moives/shows do is give teasers... and let's just say, I don't wanna spoil this story! But one thing that I want to make clear is that, the focus of the story might not be Will Sit.

Whether I will be doing a third part to end the trilogy really depends on how Part II fares. And may I say that, how far into Part II goes depends on really how the rest of Part I does!

Thank you to those posters who read this. Your support is appreciated and I hope you stick around here a lot more!

good old Keekee, he just missed out in College 3pt contest....I think I told you that my sister saw Keekee play at MSG & was really impressed by him....as for your notes....

Sit wrote:Keydren played 35 minutes and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Despite a poor 5 for 13 shooting from the field

a poor shooting night?!? that's his normal night out....he often shoots worse than that :?

I know Keekee can score, but that's not the problem....he's at Portsmouth to show he can play the PG spot....he can score 30ppg but it won't help his cause too much....I think he's been playing on a bad team so long, he thinks he has to do it all....at least Earl Boykins played with Derrick Dials (I think that was his name) so there was another big scorer to set up....can't say the same for Clark....

Sit wrote:EDIT: And I knew Daniel Kickert's name sounded familiar! He's playing on KeeKee's team in the camp and guess what? He's Aussie! <-- X, u been following him?

yes, I know Daniel Kickert, he's an Aussie forward who played at St. Mary's....the thing that sticks out for me about his game is that he can't rebound & he's like 6'10"....if I recall correctly, he averaged about 5.0rpg as a senior, which is poor for a PF playing 30-35mins/game....it probably means he's a perimeter forward who shoots the 3-ball....

also, if you watch some sort of player recaps of Portsmouth, head to DraftExpress

- Yeh, hes got to prove he can run an offence... everyone knows he can score... well.. 5 for 13 is still poor man! haha... maybe im expecting too much of him... i thought having better teammates means better shots. I sitll wanna see him come to Aussieland! haha

at least get a job to help his mate's mom. u gotta admit hes had it rough the last year!

that is true....but the fact is, he should be playing close to hoop at defensive end & controlling those....the scouting report on him is that he's a weak rebounder & weak shotblocker, but has pretty good shooting ability from outside that can draw opponents' bigs away from the basket....but I don't think we're talking the shooting ability of say a Steve Novak so I can't see anyone taking him in the 2nd Round....

- Yeh, I see what you're saying... maybe he has a brighter future in the NBL? The game here is suited to him anyways I reackon.. much faster and offence orientated.

Oh yeh... checked out the Draftexpress recap for KeeKee and yes... I am still impressed haha. His problem is controlling an offence and his shot selection. Guess he needs to take time to learn that he could help his teammates score and still score himself. Being short and all, as u said, he wont be a scorer in the NBA or Europe... so he needs to prove he can play the PG.

Keydren Puts Up 20 Points... isn't as impressive as it might seem...

At his rate, Keydren will probably have no reason to keep trying out for an NBA team... form what I read on Draftexpress - Clark hogged the ball and shot a lot of shots. As many as he could manage and he even stole an inbounds pass that was meant for a different teamamte.

Well, he got his 20 points on 5 for 15 shooting... got 5 boards and 3 dimes and also showed nothing good while trying to set up an offence. The guy scotuing him suggested he could fit into a fast paced offence like Phoenix's but... I don't think they'd look into him much.

I'm hoping he makes the big time but if he can't and its looking more likely he won't... I hope he comes to Aussieland so I can see him! :)

His team's playing for the Camp Championship tommorrow so I hope he does something special. And hopefulyl he will play well in Orlando later this year. Hey X, he will get invited right?

All about heart
Clark seeks third scoring title in memory of teammate

St. Peter's senior point guard Keydren Clark is having the type of season that already has people talking about his future -- both in the NCAA tournament and in the NBA. But Clark insists on keeping an eye on the past.

As part of his normal routine, Clark, the nation's leading scorer for the past two seasons, watches Michael Jordan highlight videos before every home game. He studies the footage to learn from his idol, but, more importantly, Clark watches the videos as a tribute to his former teammate and best friend, George Jefferson, who died last June of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy -- the same condition that killed Reggie Lewis and Hank Gathers. Jefferson, a 6-foot-4 guard who would have been a senior, was Clark's roommate for three years.

"When I was living with George, we would always watch Michael Jordan games," remembers Clark. "MJ was his favorite player, and he modeled his game so much after Jordan that he would wear the shin splints and the wrist band on his arm.

"I do the same thing now. I watch the Michael Jordan games that George would watch, and then I go to the gym and try the type of shots that George thought only Michael Jordan would hit."

Clark discovered Jefferson dead in his dorm room hours before he was to leave on a trip to Europe with the NIT All-Stars. Instead of joining the team, he returned home to Harlem to grieve with his mother, Rosie. "She was there for me morally," says Clark. "She supported me. She was there as a friend and as a mom. I'm thankful I have her in my life."

Clark took three weeks off from basketball over the summer. When he returned, he went back to his roots -- the famed Rucker Park. Clark was born in Alabama but grew up in Harlem and played at Rice High. He was a regular at Rucker as a teenager and earned the nickname, "The Adventure Begins."

At Rice, Clark, who is 5-9, was a role player who averaged 13 points per game and didn't stand out. "When I was at Rice, we had nine Division I players, and anyone would step up on a night and give 25 points," says Clark. "That was the way we won city and state championships."

As a result, Clark went unnoticed by the top college programs. He decided on St. Peters because the school gave him the opportunity to play point guard and be close to home (the college is only 17 miles from Harlem). He also wanted to put the program on the map -- the Peacocks won a total of 13 games in the three years before Clark's arrival.

Clark immediately made himself known. In only the third game of his college career, he scored 48 points, going 10-of-16 from beyond the arc. The rest is history. Last year, be became just the eighth player in NCAA history to repeat as national scoring champion, and if he does it again this year, he will join Oscar Robertson and Pete Maravich as the only three-time winners.

After a slow start to the season -- he averaged just 13.5 points in the first two games, and five games into the season ranked 30th on the scoring list -- Clark has set a blistering pace over the past two months. Last week, he earned MAAC Player of the Week for the third time this season after he averaged 23.7 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 11 assists in wins over Iona, Marist and Siena.

Clark now ranks fifth in the nation with 25.6 points per game. Interestingly, two other guards from the MAAC conference also hold top spots on the scoring list -- Andre Collins of Loyola (Md.) is in fourth place with 26.9 points per game and Steve Burtt of Iona is sixth with 24.9.

Whether or not Clark will surpass J.J. Redick and Adam Morrison on the top of the list remains to be seen. Even though he's at a small mid-major, Clark says he feels the same amount of pressure to put up big numbers. "Guys like J.J. and Adam Morrison get the spotlight because they're always on the radar," he says. "A guy like myself, I'm at a program that doesn't get a lot of TV time. If I was at a bigger school, I would be in the same boat as they are. There's nothing that they have that I don't get. They're in the spotlight but I'm here making a name for St. Peters. In a way, I have my ups and downs and they have their ups and downs."

In dealing with his tragic loss, a disappointing start and the hype of trying to won a third scoring title, Clark is not taking anything for granted. His ultimate goal is to lead the Peacocks to their first NCAA appearance in 11 years. St. Peter's sits in fourth place in the MAAC with an 8-6 conference mark (12-11 overall).

"If George was here today, he would want me to do the best that I can and not worry about my game," says Clark. "As time goes on I keep that in my mind and used it as my motivation. On the court, I'm playing for myself but more than that I'm playing for George."
