Jersey Preview Help

Postby Silas on Mon Apr 03, 2006 4:48 pm

Well, i created this new custom jersey for the bobcats following bassman58's jersey creating tutorial and cable guy's adding jersey dbf tutorial, but now i have to make my preview. Well, i'm tired of working with photoshop and doing all the dbf editing and what not, so i was wondering if i could just take the easy route and copy the jersey preview from another jersey, i dont care which one, and put it as the jersey preview for my newly created jersey.

Every time i try to load a game with my newly created jersey, the game crashes and i've heard that the game will crash without a jersey preview, so i just want to get some sort of preview in there so i can play my game.

Any ideas on how to do that?

thx in adanced...

You know what? It'll take just as long to copy another preview as making your own. It's probally one additional step, improting the new image into the .fsh. You still have to rename all the files in the .big and then edit the .ebo file, which is the part I hate the most. check out 05's patchiing forum on how to make previews.

well i made the jersey preview following your tutorial bassman, and i did everything correctly except when you import the preview you create in photoshop, FhsX doesnt except .png formats so i just kept the regular phoenix preview, but it still crashes. The loading bar goes 90% of the way, then the game crashes. Any ideas?

I've got the preview done, though its in png format and Photoshop wont let me save it into the accepted bitmap format, and i've got the texture done and loaded, though the game still crashes

i know its not perfectly symmetrical or anything, but i just want to be able to use it in game w/o a crash.

FhsX doesnt except .png formats

It does, just go to the right folder and type the name of the .png in the box.

Did you use the same preview .big file as the .viv file (ex. if you used lalahome as a base, did you use both lalahome.viv and jerseys~ll~ll_home.big files, the same jersey)?

Double check the file names within the VIV file. Double check your record in the teamgear.dbf file. One typo will cause a crash.

i've gone through the viv file and teamgear file, you might want to read my other thread about what the problem could be, but at this point i'm tired of trying to figure it out so i've just requested that it be made in the jersey request section.
