The perfect team

Postby bonanzaman on Thu Mar 30, 2006 6:03 am

I think the perfect blueprint for a team is

PG- Someone who can pass with great speed and maybe a decent shot.
SG- A three point marksman
SF- A superstar like Lebron or Tmac
PF- A player like Emeka Okafor who can play defense rebound and be the second option on offense. Blocking is a plus too.
C- Only thing that matters is rebounding and blocking. Passing is helpful too to set up the three point shooter.

The bench usually has players similar to the ones I have out so I can play the same style of play when we make subs and a SG who is a stopper to sub for the three point guy down the stretch of close games when were up.

I would sway more in this direction:

PG - a penetrator. If your point guard can penetrate, then he is much more likely to rack up the assists. Look at Steve Nash.

C - a rebounder. Inconsistent offense would be a bonus.

PF - someone quick who can finish around the hoop and hit the outside J. Someone like CB4 comes to mind. This way he draws the double team thus leaving other people open for shots.

SG/SF - shooters. Preferably having one of them who can create their own shots. With the point guard and small forward sucking in the defense, they'll have plenty of opportunities to take the three.

You also need a good wing defender, perhaps a PG w/ good defense cause some PG's like Nash like to break you down off the dribble.

PG: Rafer Alston
SG: Arvydas Macijauskas
SF: Rashard Lewis
PF: Josh Smith
C: Erick Dampier

I'd also recommend Diaw, Ridnour, Claxton, Korver and Foster. A team that would definitely not be overpowered, but could do good, since it has well-fitting players.

my bench......

Garnett, Kidd, Nowitzki, Wade......

PG- Someone who can pass with great speed and three point shooting(above 65).
SG- Three point shooter with good speed and penetration and dunking.
SF- Three point shooter with good speed and dunking and steal.
PF-A player like D.howard. should be the first option on offense to attract double team and pass to shooters outside the arc.
C- Big man defender. Good rebound and blocking. Strong.

Well, i just like playing inside out games. The best duo i ever have was D.howard with michael redd. Offensively, Howard is an excellent PF who can score and attract double teams, while Redd can always connect on open threes given from Howard.

PG - A pass first point guard who will fearlessly attack the basket. However, he has to be able to hit the open shot if played for the drive, and run the floor quickly

C - A player who gives tenacity, and hunger to the position by grabbing the board, or diving for loose balls.

PF - Someone similar to the C, but has a longer range with more consistency. Shot blocking and rebounding is a must. Someone like TD.

SG/SF - Either have the SG with the long, consitent touch, and the SF being able to finish near the basket and pick up the foul,or vice versa. The shooter has to be able to move very well without the ball, and know when to throw it up, or pass it off. The SF(or SG) should be a sort of Jack of all trades, and give the team someone to go to near the end of a shot clock. Should be able to pull the 3, or attack the basket.

Hello all!
Mine would be:
PG: Chris Paul / Earl Watson
SG: Mo Pete / J.R Smith
SF: Shane Battier / Matt Bonner
PF: Stromile Swift / Charlie Villanueva
C: Kwame Brown / Etan Thomas
Nice, affordable and young team, with nice attack and defenders.
Cheers!
