5 Best & Worst teams for Dynasty Analyzed

Postby VlaDiv on Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:39 am

I looked at current overall rating and quality of the youth on the team for dynasty. Here's my opinions

best
1. Phoenix - With Stoudemire, Marion, Diaw, Barbosa, Jones and more, this team has the cornerstones in place to be very good in the future. And with Nash at the helm for now, they are good in the present too.

2. Cleveland - James has a million years left at the 99 rating it seems. They also have a pretty good supporting group with only a couple players like marshall and ilgauskas who have peaked.

3. Orlando - Big dwight isn't going anywhere but up. Darko, Ariza, Nelson, all interesting pieces.

4. Toronto - One word: Bosh. Charlie V ain't bad either.

5. Portland - with guys like telfair, webster, miles, randolph this team can be together for years to come.

Also good: Denver, New Orleans, Charlotte, Atlanta, GSW, Boston

The top 2 are distinguished by already being quite good.

Worst 5, or as I see it, most challenging and interesting:

1. Minnesota - KG is in year 11 and no really great young player exists. The Joe Smith draft deal hurt them.

2. New York - The talent is there on paper, but the cap is absurd.

3. Lakers - Kobe and thinness.

4. Philly - AI and Webb aren't the new kids on the block, so when can they actually win a title? The bench is thin, iguodala and maybe dalembert are the only real pieces for tomorrow. Korver is alright, but the team needs new stars in the draft.

5. Seattle - Not that bad, but like philly they aren't winning now and don't have much for the future besides ridnour and those big projects swift and petro.

Also challenging: Memphis, New jersey, Sacramento, Utah

Teams like SAN, DET, MIA and DAL aren't on here because they are great now and have some future, but also have an investments in veterans.
Milwaukee lacks a future superstar but has young role players. Indiana is decent, but where's the cornerstone to a title?

Nice analysis, I agree with the Portland one :headbang:
They've got enough potential to bring up or trade for the franchise player to play along side Randolph

what about chicago? i think they're pretty decent with all the young players they have and a nice trade could get them the franchise player they need.

Chicago is still a good young team. They do seem to have a taken a small step backwards without eddy curry. They are thin in the lower bench and the big men. I think this years draft will help them a lot with NY's pick.

i dont agree with the sixers. after yr1 they become pretty good in my dynasty. yr 3 and they have won 2 titles and had the top seed in the east those 2 yrs. 8-)

How about when Cwebb and iverson retire? It also depends on how much you sim and how much you play. If you play, 76ers are pretty good but if you sim with the current team they have they are just alright.

I think it's better to take a bad team and make it good. That gives you a sense of real acheivement and satisfaction.

umm i play with the hawks in my dynasty and and i cant get passed the dam sixers always face them either in the 2nd round or East finals last 2yrs and can seems to beat them. plus they have a better record then me. i think this yr i have there number. Nene and Kaman at Center, Gasol and Warrick at PF, Jefferson and Dunleavy at SF, Gordon and rookie Matt Hughes(defense minded) at SG and Hinrich and 2nd yr player from duke Roy Houston(3pt shooter) at PG. i know you guys might think i messed up the bulls but they make it to the playoffs and almost beat the sixers in 7 in the semi's in yr 3. Maimi and Detroit are not as good. Heat loss Wade to Houston and Detroit just cant make anything happen in the playoffs anymore. PHX ans SA dominate the West.

I find NJ a big challenge. This squad is not going to win an NBA title without a big addition to big guys and bench. Not only are they not good enough to win a title, they are one of the oldest teams with Kidd, Robinson, Murray being key pieces. They are a playoff team no doubt, but when you think title.....
Then again, they could always resign Ron Mercer :)

Robinson is good enough to get something in a trade if he's rated 73 like he is on console. How's the dynasty going? is it sim or played?

i think that NJ is one of the easiest teams to win with. krstic is good in the game, and the guards and jefferson are just awesome

I just dont like old Cliff much, id much rather have younger players
Im playing it, we are 5-3 or something
Richard Jefferson has the highflyer fss ability enabled and he makes you go
I gave Vince the outside scoring one and now hes playing really well, averaging about 28 ppg and hitting lots of big 3's
Kidd is doing the usual, averaging about 10 pts and about 13 assists
Nenad Krstic is mad in the key, i do alot of fss passes from Kidd to him for an easy 2
Off the bench, i mainly use McInnis, Padgett and Nachbar and they all do a sick job

In my last game Jefferson was injured so i decided to give Antoine Wright a go and he got 24 pts or something and i wasnt even trying to give him points or anything

So for me, the Nets are really good in dynasty

I really should post some box scores or start a dynasty story :cheeky:

Nets are certainly better than knicks or wolves. They just have some issues with depth after the big 3 and kidd's on the long side of his career.

after one year with the Cavs i won the playoffs and now i dominate with them and LeBron has a 99 rating, they have a decent enough bench too with Jones and Marshall but i think Trying to turn around a struggling franchise and succeeding is more fun but i haven't tried it myself yet

Yeah, I like your rankings.

I am playing Minnesota atm, and it took a lot of work to get a good base of players and then KG got injured for half a season and it's pretty challenging (luckily I ripped off the cpu for billups).
