Stoudamire played well this game despite the turnovers (many interception attempts), so I'll keep playing him some more before deciding to trade him or not.
I might just trade Jackson's expiring contract instead... Any opinions?
Game Recap: It was an unmotivated team that faced the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the FedEx Forum, and with how they were playing, it didn't come as a surprise to see their three game winning streak come to an end. The team just failed to show up, and didn't have that edge that you need in order to compete. The Timberwolves however was feeling it from the start and was allowed to play their game; which resulted in some easy baskets and good looks. The Grizzlies didn't have that good touch around the hoop that they have had for the previous games, as they were only 38,3% from the field. (I'm getting lazy with these recaps )
| Play Of The Game | Battier comes flying in from behind to block the shot Left: Hakeem Warrick with the big block on Kevin Garnett in the first quarter in the game | Right: Chucky Atkins throws the alley-oop pass inside to Lorenzen Wright who lays it in
Left: Mark Blount watches as his adjusted shot goes in as he falls to the floor, after being fouled by Pau Gasol | Right: Dupree floats in for the nice dunk at the start of the forth quarter
Left: Jaric drives into the lane and goes up for the tough lay-up | Right: Ricky Davis punctuates the game as he drives inside and gets fouled for the three point play late in the game
Reactions after the game:
- E. Jones: "We just didn't do what we came here to do. We played poorly, and we know it. Now it's just a matter of how we can avoid getting to that point again and learn from our mistakes..." - D. Stoudamire: "Man, that was a bad game. We played like shit..." - R. Skrnjug (Waterboy): "My mama said not to play boosball"
Notes about the game:
- Mark Blount came off the bench and put up 19 points and 15 rebounds, which earned him the MVP - Both Garnett and Pietrus got injured, though Garnett was able to come back later in the game
Havent been around the dynasty section for a while, but I got to said Im really impressed with your man, great job. Awesome presentation and pics. Congratulations
The Memphis Grizzlies have chosen to start Lorenzen Wright and Pau Gasol in their frontcourt, instead of the regulars (Pau Gasol and Hakim Warrick) in an attempt to give them some extra size and strength down low, thus being able to try and slow down Shaquille O'Neal more effectively. Will it pay off? stay tuned to find out...
Trailblazers suffers injury to star player
PORTLAND, December 15, 2006 - The Portland Trailblazers star Zach Randolph had surgery to treat a damaged bone in his left foot Thursday. The Trailblazers said recovery time for Randolph's injury is expected to be approximately three to four weeks. Randolph was injured in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s blow-out loss against the Heat (63-101). He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 25 minutes before being injured.
Game Recap: It was a rejuvenated Memphis Grizzlies team that went to Florida to face the Heat; and the previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves definitely had an impact on the players. Miami wasn't an easy opponent though, and came out playing very well and challenged the Grizzlies on every possession. And although the Grizzlies did a fairly good job containing the Heat's star players, other players took advantage of that and stepped up. Wade got into early foul trouble, but when he came back in the third quarter, he gave the Heat a much wanted energy injection and the Heat could go on a 12-2 run. But the Grizzlies wouldn't let go, and kept fighting back, and managed to reduce the Heat lead more. The deciding factor in the game was Chucky Atkins, as he drained two consecutive three pointers to tie the game with less than 2 minutes left, and then lead a breakaway after Lorenzen Wright came up big on the defensive end as he blocked Shaq. Memphis got a small lead, and that was something Miami wouldn't be able to come back from, and the Grizzlies got away with the win thanks to some clutch free throw shooting down the line...
| Play Of The Game | Wade goes up and throws down the windmill over three defenders (~ 1,4 mb) Left: Shaquille O'Neal swats away Lorenzen Wright's shot attempt early in the game | Right: Hakim Warrick drives baseline and finishes with a thunderous up-and-under windmill dunk
Left: Jones tries to free up some space for a shot as the shot-clock winds down | Right: Defenders was all over O'Neal, but he was too powerful as he went up strong and determined
Left: Miami trying to keep their lead intact at the end of the game, but to no avail | Right: Wright gets payback on O'Neal as he swats away his shot attempt at the end of the game
Reactions after the game:
- E. Jones: "It felt great to be able to play Miami and beat them on their own home court. What a great feeling!" - S. Battier: "Awesome game! This is how we're supposed to play; I mean I can't help but wonder how far we could go if we played like this all the time"
Notes about the game:
- Pau Gasol was named MVP thanks to his defensive efforts that made way for his teams' win - Pau Gasol got a career-high 5 steals (previous high was 4) - Hakim Warrick had a great game on the boards as he grabbed 14 rebounds (which is a tied career high) - Macas had a poor game as he was 0 out of 4 from the field but also had 4 turnovers
