Dynasty Mode - Training Camp Crash

Postby chichiri09lal on Tue Feb 21, 2006 4:39 pm

Hi Andrew. I'm a first time poster here but long time reader. :)

I saw a few posts about the training camp crash and I think the problem comes from creating players and using them in dynasty mode. Your roster patch v1.05 works fine in dynasty mode as is and flows nicely. (Great work on the rosters by the way. Appreciate the effort you put into it).

However, when I try creating my own player to use in dynasty mode, that's where the crash occurs. Yeah, I'm a nerd that creates myself in the game for dynasty mode. I'll try replacing the .dbf files you mentioned and test it out tomorrow.

Also, did anyone have problems with the Headband for creating a player back in I think version 1.04 or 1.03? I forgot which version it was but the Headbands was disabled for me. Works in v1.05 though.

Headbands aren't always available depending on the headshape of the created player. That crash you mentioned seems to be resolved by replacing the dbf files. I'm not sure what causes it, since nothing I've done in the creation of the patch should alter it. Still, so long as the fix is readily available, I guess.

Replace birthstate.dbf and birthtown.dbf with the originals.

Yeah, replacing the birthstate.dbf and birthtown.dbf files work. Got the files from the NBA Live 06/database/originaldb folder and just copied & pasted into the currentdb folder.

Thanks for the help. (Y)

No problem. :) For anyone else who's having the problem, just a follow up note about replacing the dbf files: make sure they're the original ones! If you've modified/replaced the original ones in the originaldb folder, copy them from the CD.

Yes, it seems to work for most people.

Bonza!

I'll give it a go later, although i'm well into my Dynasty (sans create-a-player) with the new Sonics trades (Wilcox, Watson etc)

If the errors occur there, you might still be able to correct it with the dbf replacement method.

That might cause a problem, yes.

To add a new line in DB Commander, simply scroll to the last entry and press the Down arrow key.

I'm pretty much out of ideas. Usually one of the methods we've gone through works. The only other suggestion I have is that one of the files may be corrupted so you might have to start over again.
