What is DHARDY and other ratings in players.dbf

Postby EarthD on Sat Nov 23, 2002 6:25 am

Does anyone know? And how exactly does def aware and off aware affect gameplay. I am trying to edit the players.dbf so that the computer defender doesn't make ridiculous fingertip steals with his back to the pass. There've been to many instances where I passed to whom I thought was open only to realize that a computer defender was really guarding the pass against two players just by spreading out both arms. Please also share how other ratings such as primacy affect gameplay.

1.primacy - player with the highest value is player who is top scorer in his team (lets say ...carter in toronto), players with lower rating will shoot less
2.hardiness - i'm not sure but i think it has somethig to do with how hard is to guard some player (duncan has high hardiness and he is almost unstopable)
3.off/deff awareness - if it is high the player will be better in offense/def (more steals, rebounds, looking for open shots)

Hardiness represents how injury-prone a player is. Players with low hardiness are more likely to be injured.

I have noticed in tweaking the rosters that off/def awareness seems to control a players reactions - how fast they perform off/def moves. I tried lowering all the players def. awareness to 50, and players reacted much slower on defense, lowering the blocks and steals. They also rotated slower on defense. I haven't really messed with off. awareness yet, but I would imagine it does the same sort of thing.

Please note, Hardiness only has a visible effect when simulating games...
