Jing's DBF Error

Postby Jing on Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:09 pm

Hm. I had just finished the clips game in my dynasty, saved, then went to progress to the next month, but then for some reason the game just stopped, with a codebase error of -70 and its location being Nba live 06/database/workingdb/players.dbf

i got a new players.dbf from cwebbiverson, but to no avial. the last edit in made in the save was deleting Jason Collier from the hawks roster, but I am not sure if that is the problem, I will add him again.. but doubtful though..

does anybody have any ideas? If only we could understand what the errors meant within themselves. like what each number is and where specifically within the dbf is causing a error of -70

Sadly, it sounds like the DBF has been corrupted. Try using different editors which can revert bugs. DBF Commander 2000 is quite barbaric. You can still try copying the players.dbf file from a roster patch. (Y)

Did you get someone to replace his spot in the roster, as in if he was no.6 on the roster, did you put the guy who was like no.14 on the roster to no.6?

it didnt work when i changed him back to false.
i mean i am certain along the way the dbf's i've done to add new players and whatnot could do this, just trying to understand how my edits relate to the workingdb.

To remove a player from the database, just change his team to the Referee or Retired team ID. Sounds like you've corrupted the database though.

I got the same error too. I tried to make Amare Stoudemire injured and got the error. I changed it back to no avail. Now my dynasty is retired. :(

Hmmm....weird, I had the same error in the dynasty at the end of every month. All I did is switched workingdb/players.dbf with players.dbf from the current roster I use.
