Live 2003 Assists Record?

Postby EGarrett on Fri Jun 06, 2003 12:59 pm

Just got finished playing a game of Live on 12 minute quarters just to see how many dimes I could drop with Kidd...simulation rules except no foul out...final box...

Nets 208
Blazers 147

Player of the Game

Jason Kidd - 2 points, 18 rebounds, 1 block, 10 steals, 85 assists

That's not a misprint...although...I'm sure this thread will be answered with a dozen or so blatant lies...

I think it's safe to say you hold the record for assists with one player in NBA Live 2003. :) The most assists I've recorded in any NBA Live with one player is 38 (NBA Live 97)...NBA Live 2003, I think it was 21. Not even half of your mark.

I was actually aiming for 100...but I think that's not possible unless you foul the computer every time it touches the ball to get the ball back.

Another interesting note...as tough as it was to beat the computer when I first got Live (it took me several tries to get one win on superstar after a week or so)...now I beat them all the time...just like with every game sooner or later you get the hang of it.

Now maybe I can see how many points, steals or blocks I can get...

I managed to score 100 points with Shaq and 88 points with Kobe, in the same game. It was on Rookie difficulty, which I don't normally play at, but I wanted to see just how much I could score in 48 minutes. The most I've been able to get on a higher difficulty level is 74 points (Kevin Garnett). I've also been able to get a quadruple double.

Keep us informed of your records. :)

I've gotten quadruple-doubles playing All-Star, 8 min quarters. The numbers weren't that gaudy, though, something like 30pts, 15 reb, 12 blk, 10 ast. I've also gotten quads with steals.

Alright...another game...superstar difficulty as before...12 minute quarters...this time full simulation rules...

60's All-Stars 175
East All-Stars 171

Player of the Game

Wilt Chamberlain
171 points on 75/85 shooting, 16 rebounds, 12 blocks, 2 steals, 0 assists

Somebody's probably beaten that though. Maybe if I used a faster player and a quicker offense I could reach 200...

Yea..top quality shot..lol. I'm guessing with my huge big head that you dont have live on pc?

lol...Yea...I have Live for both PS2 and PC but my comp isn't capable for running the PC version so I just play PS2 obsessively.

So, I had to hold a scanner up to my TV screen...but I got you your proof didn't I?

I've also been able to get a quadruple double.

I've had a few those...haven't managed a quintuple double yet with any real player on real game settings...but maybe one of us could pull it off?

Maybe we should set up a "beat this" or records section for Live players? As long as we provide screenshots (or grainy screen scans  ) we could make sure everything was real.

I reckon I might be able to give it a legitimate shot in my Wolves Franchise with KG...the only real problem would be getting 10 steals. Still, I'll give it a shot. :)

Not a bad idea. (Y)

I suppose it was on superstar level although i have forgot where i got this pic. I just finished another with kobe getting 150 in 24-min game. Maybe i will go up with another screenshot later. By the way, have u broken my record? not really difficult though.

Not yet - haven't played Live 2003 today. I'll try to get in an exhibition game (Superstar difficulty) tomorrow, in an attempt to break 112 (or 150 if you can provide the screenshot). If I can break that record, I'll post a screenshot.

By the way, did you win the game? I guess if I break a record, I break a record, but it might not mean as much if I do so in a losing effort.

I couldn't wait until tomorrow, so I gave it a shot tonight. I lost badly (188-141), but I managed to beat the 112 points mark. 12 minute quarters, Superstar difficulty, default rosters, default simulation rules.

Would have been 0%, but I was fortunate enough to have one of the attempts goaltended.

Also a correction...that final score should be around 188-145...not that it makes much difference.
