i 110% agree. its number 2 on my list of most annoying things in the game

Tue Feb 07, 2006 1:59 am

Make sure blocks count as missed shots

and rebounds to the other team like usual shots( please it's very importent, we lose in stats a lot of rebounds because of that!)
make a normal FG precentages. most of the guars can't hit in 50%, and from all the teams there wasn't one( the best was miami with 48%) who shoot at tese preceanteges.
make players statistics in games in simulate games close to stats they get in the games aginst the user( like if Richard Hamilton averages 42% FG he will shot in the game about 8\17).
Make real European players in scout reports.
make it possible to sigh few players from euorpe( like Anthoney Parker, Luis Scola etc.).

My top 15 straight off the list:

1. Add Dynasty Mode to Next Gen versions

2. Add multi-player Dynasty Mode

3. Ability to un-retire players within the first year of their retirement. Might be a way to correct an early/unexpected retirement, having the option to coax a player into playing one more year.

4. Receive a warning when a player is contemplating retirement.

5. Remove the "logo flash" between cutscenes etc. Replace it with stats overlays

6. Add minor league such as the NBDL or CBA

7. Adding a trading block to entertain offers for players

8. Add the ability to save during the offseason
9. Make draft picks independent of players when filling draft "slots"

(AND ALLOW FOR MULTIPLE YEARS OF PICKS TRADED)

10. Turn on Fatigue for Ranked Games

11. Add more statistics such as Season Highs, Career Highs, Team Leaders, etc.

12. Tone down Freestyle Superstar abilities slightly so they are not completely overpowering/lead to unrealistic play

(I might rate this no. 1 if I were playing older gen systems, but I sure hope they don't add crazy freestyle to xbox 360)

13. Add mid-level exceptions, veteran minimums and 10 day contracts

14. Allow the user to view all player information at the draft: Height, Weight, Potential, Projected as well as scouting report details

15. Record common names and have these assigned to generated rookies/created players

So really, number 1 is a dynasty mode on 360 and a more interesting one than what we've had since 2000. Less linear, more rumors, more trade pick trades, more demands for trades or PT, more interesting rookies (with pictures and names that the annoucers say), a better draft, talk players out of retirement (they will still decline each year so eventually you will just let shaq go once he reaches 12th man status in his 40s), trade multiple picks, etc.

um...yes they do..occasionally. Don't talk like you know shit. This site was formed by a member of the NBA Live development team.

a practice mode where plays could be practiced, maybe practice 5 on 5 against other players on your team, and then practice plays.

The next version ESPN will be incorporated if I believe right?

First of all: We want bug fixes not new game modes. Gliz and glamour then and only then when you have given us the perfect gameplay and dynasty mode.

The problem with box scores: This should be so easy, wouldn't it? We want them in the playoffs and at the All Star Weekend. There is also a problen that you can't save a box score if there's just one game on that day. WTF!? :?

The problem with intentional fouls: If the cap is below 10, the cpu starts to foul during the last minute. Another WTF!?! Why didn't they play defence before? Why then? If i'm in the lead I get like 10-12 FTAs during the last minute and the scores increase rapidly. You should fix it by:

1) Make it possible to run away from an intentional foul.
2) Make the CPU doubleteam very agressively instead of fouling. (But then again 5 TOs at the last minute would be very disturbing aswell)
3) Improve the logic. No need to foul anymore when you're down by 4 with 2 seconds on the clock. One game the CPU managed to foul me two times at a such situation.

And here's IMO the most important stuff from the first post:
Andrew wrote:Gameplay/AI
  • Implement real NBA strategy. The CPU should beat you through playing a good game, not "cheating".
  • Add the ability to set team strategy before starting a game. Save team strategies.
  • Reduce the number of offensive rebounds; NBA Live 2005's rebounding engine was much better in comparison. In NBA Live 06, players often refuse to grab defensive rebounds despite perfect timing/positioning allowing the CPU to grab the offensive board and score a guaranteed bucket.
  • FEWER LOB PASSES!
  • Add the ability to force jump-balls and steal the ball when a player is sitting on the floor after diving for a loose ball
  • Allow players to go after loose balls when their shot is blocked or the ball is stripped from them
  • Fix adjusted shots so that the player does not end up behind the backboard
  • Bring back the ability to fake a pass
  • Bring back the ability to push players to commit an intentional foul in addition to the "Intentional Foul" quick play
  • Give the user more control over stealing the ball when double teaming. Being too aggressive should result in a foul.
  • Allow more mid-air decisions ie. passing during a layup/dunk anima
  • Do not allow the CPU to make blind intercepts
  • Ensure the sliders have more of an effect, for example a setting of 0 for offensive rebounds will make it virtually impossible for the user/cpu to grab an offensive rebound

Dynasty Mode
  • Fix the stats engine so players have realistic averages, including bench players
  • Keep track of more records and announce when they are broken
  • Adding a trading block to entertain offers for players
  • Let the user work out trades in the span of a day. Teams don't work out trades via email over a couple of days; they hammer out bargains over the phone. Using the current PDA system for trades wastes too much time on the schedule and makes deadline trades extremely difficult.
  • Add mid-level exceptions, veteran minimums and 10 day contracts
  • CPU teams should make more transactions, but keep them realistic!
  • Add restricted free agency
  • Add the ability to save during the offseason
  • Free agents should lower their asking price through the season so that they match latch on with a team, even if it's only until the end of the year.
  • Do not automatically sign rookies when they are drafted. Allow teams to hold their draft rights and choose whether to sign them or not.
  • Add more statistics eg Double-Doubles, Triple-Doubles, Assist-to-Turnover ratio, etc.
  • When generating rookies, have fewer undersized players and better players available in stronger drafts. Also have more consistency in generated rookies: players with high speed ratings should also have similar quickness, point guards should be decent ballhandling ratings (both passing and dribbling) at worst and so on.
  • Allow the user to view all player information at the draft: Height, Weight, Potential, Projected as well as scouting report details
  • Less PDA alerts about players training
  • More trades and signings during the offseason

Graphics & Presentation
  • Add a CPU-orientated user interface with drop-down menus and sliders for ratings etc in Create-a-Player
  • Utilise higher resolution on PC version to show full rosters without scrolling in re-order/trade players menus
  • Improve player animations; eliminate "skating"
  • Make it possible to view a player's potential, not only during the draft but for all young players in the league
  • Bring back the team ranks (scoring, rebounding, defense, ball control and overall) in addition to overall team ratings
  • Add a better TV style camera angle
  • Make instant replays accessible at any time
  • Have players show a lot more emotion on the court
  • Realistic replay cameras

Sounds Effects & Music
  • Better commentary AI; leave some lines for later in the game, have the commentary respond more to the current situation
  • Improve the relevance of the commentary.
  • Have the commentators display a lot more emotion in big games and on big plays
  • Record common names and have these assigned to generated rookies/created players

Roster Management
  • Bring back the Custom Team feature, with the following changes:
    • Ability to designate custom team as a regular NBA team, All-Star team, or special team. Special team would basically be the old format of custom teams, while the other classifications speak for themselves. Of course, since it's a created team, it would be deleted when the rosters are reset, no matter what the classification.
  • Add multi-team trades. Allow the user to suggest movement between CPU teams. All CPU teams must agree to the deal.
  • Allow teams to trade more than three players
  • Bring back the ability to disable automatic roster re-ordering, with extended options to turn it off simply for the user's team or all teams (all teams by default when working with the default rosters).

Realism & Accuracy
  • Add the "5 Seconds Back to the Basket" rule
  • Add lane violations
  • Add loose ball/off the ball/over the back fouls
  • Add pushing fouls
  • Add some real restrictions to Dynasty Mode (ie players placed on IR must sit at least five games unless not replaced on active roster). Also, playoff rosters must be set before advancing to the playoffs and cannot be altered (IR must miss the playoffs) once the postseason begins.
  • Add Offensive Goaltending
  • Add 20 second timeouts

Patching/Modding
  • Make sure the game is patcher-friendly, from the graphics to the DBFs
  • Allow customisation of the Playlist with a folder for mp3s

Bugs/Things to fix
  • Bring back the ability to save stats
  • Make sure elements such as the settings and unlocked items are saved correctly
  • Make sure blocks count as missed shots
  • Make sure deflections do not count as turnovers
  • Do not allow the CPU to get away with double dribbles and back court violations
  • Remove the glitch where players become meshed together

Online Mode
  • Turn on Fatigue for Ranked Games
  • Allow users to change settings such as the Playbook and sliders

Settings & Ratings
  • Bring back the Clutch rating
  • Bring back the "Box Out" and "Crash Boards" options in team strategy
  • Add a slider for Freestyle Superstar effectiveness
  • Add the ability to save Playbook settings

Miscellaneous
  • Release a demo!
  • Add classic/championship teams
  • Add more statistics such as Season Highs, Career Highs, Team Leaders, etc.

Still a lot, but that's the way it is. :(

what i would also like is that if they could make the nets a bit more real like in the nba nets and the mesh also it would be very interesting.Dunks and allyopps should be a bit more real coz over and over they do the same dunk and allyopp and tht u know and i no and everyone knows tht dosnt happen in really nba so if thy can hve a number dunks made and the cpu will chose which dunk is good at tht monent so if there is a huge swarm of plyers blocking u the plyer sould try somthing easy to get to the net on the other hand if they steal the ball and they hve no one in front then they sould do a hard one or whatever. 8-) (Y)

And does anybody know when nba live 07 will actully come out :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:24 am

Add more sideline details (not changed since 2004's game)
Add animations for bench guys (get crazy when someone makes a nice dunk...)
Add more animations in the intro of the teams
Add more crowd textures for each team
Add more animations to the crowd (sometimes the crowd get excited all at the same time)
Change the net (like NBA 2K6)
Add more dunk animations or use the Motion-Capture for smoother animations
Add assistant managers at the bench
Don't make look the sideline look empty
Change the 2D crowd completely...3D ass well
Take out please the BIG WINDMILLS, 360's, PUMP and the other unrealistic dunks during a match!!!!!

Andrew, this may not be much, but this is not hard to implement anyway..

- Fix the handing out of awards.

MVP's should not just be based on totals alone. Since there is no other criteria other than stats for this game, why not use stats per game. There should just be a qualifying number of games to be considered, much like the way they decide the scoring champ. That is because a player who was injured for 10 games might lose out to a player who played more, because of the totals.

Also, why not limit the mvp's to players who actually made it to the postseason? since, there's hardly (if any) a player who won the award without getting to the playoffs. It is irritating to see a player win the award but is not a part of the winning team.

Wed Feb 08, 2006 1:13 am

- Just steal NBA 2K7 game and change its name, and release for PC. That way the game would be perfect ;). (Y)

Sorry but did u considered my suggestion because it's really quite annoying and i'm sure i'm not the only one... :)

and i would like to ask how do u contact those EA staff?? through emails?? i'm not questioning but i've read some of the wishlist for 05 and 06 and all of them are great but i dun see much that the EA sports is doing anything to improve the game according to the wishlist which is kinda of dissapointing because from all the wishlists were great.. it's juz a shame if they dun really consider those pts we've all given..

Wed Feb 08, 2006 1:58 am

hope you read this...im not in favor of the idea that the FSS should drain some stamina. coz guys like amare really dunk a lot in the game.. duncan does his hook shot all the tym.. theyre superstars because they have special moves that other players dont... in real life this superstars dont get tired when they do their stuff... peja does his quick release shot every game but that's his game, that doesnt make him tired..i think you just have to add another player rating something like FSS effectiveness that varies in every player.. or watever... hpe u got the point...i just tot its rily stupid to have stamina drained blah blah

2V2,3V3

Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:35 am

For me it is very important to have 2v2 , 3v3 playing modes, eventually on street, and maybe more courts. This is smth i want badly.

Hi

I think EA have alot of work to do I have some suggestion:

1.AI is the most important thing in every game and most of the problems

that every body said is realted to AI for example: subtitiution, blocks,

number of assists etc

2.In real basketball when a player score some points one after one

he becames hot and more accurate but we don't have any emotion in

NBA live

3.We don't have tecnical fouls for coaches nad players cuz they dont

react to referies calls

4.Almost there is no hussle play in this version but you see in real nba

dorel armestrang jumps out and injers his self to bring the ball in

5.20 seconds timeout

6.Espcial moves for each player i have see just one for nick van excel

freethrous that he stays away from the shot line

7.PLZ PLZ bring back the replays like NBA 2005

8.The crowed are really disapointing they are like papers it is shame for

a company like ea to create graphic like this

9.combine freestyle cuz you can see Steeve Nash is a playmaker a

shooter and a great scorer at same time in real world

10.players can injere them selvse in real but not in NBA live06

11.I have put difficulty to superstar but in my dynesty i am 47-50 you

think it is real ?

Andrew said alot of points so i think it's inoff for me if EA do 20% of

these things nobody will say change the name of 2k6

But PLZ do sth for AI PLZ

Wed Feb 08, 2006 6:50 am

No, we (or atleast a Mod) sends a wishlist to the EA Sports/NBA Live forum (I think).

Everything that's been posted so far is being considered.

I contact them through email. And no, I'm not making those addresses public. ;)

another kinda cool thing(but not neccessary or majorly important) is the gm thing.. in 2k you can make a gm and and name him and youll see him during the game too in dynasty mode its pretty cool.... andrew, what % of the things on the wishlist actually make it into the game? like how much of the stuff on this years wishtlist do you think will be in the game

Wed Feb 08, 2006 8:35 am

Difficult to say. It could be argued that items in previous Wishlists that have made the game were natural progression (such as Franchise/Dynasty Mode) as much as they were fan requests.

Wed Feb 08, 2006 9:03 am

i just want the user profiles back. where you can name a profile and save your team strategies, defensive and offensive plays, keyboard and even game pad configurations.

also, i wish for more set plays to be called. before in NBA live (99 to 2001 if i remember correctly) you can call up to 8 different plays. or if in this case like if i press the UP directional pad one time a play comes up like for example double high. then if press it again or mutiple times i can call double high 1 through 10. i've heard you can do this with some of the console games. Live 06 plays are just fine but it would be great if you have control for more plays that way strategies can't be read easily by opponents especially human players. before in Live 99 to 2001 i have at least 2 set plays for each position.

also, the ability to navigate through the menu screens just using the gamepad. i've read it from some one who posted but this one would be a great addition.

for the gameplay, i just want to have more perimeter games and mid range shots implemented. right now in Live 06, it's has become more of 3 point shot and inside game especially with that under the basket animation. just too much inside scoring. for example, i play the Kings and Brad Miller can't even hit an outside shot. he's making that crazy leaner toss up shot that's impossible to go in. i think NBA live 2003's gameplay is better except for too many showtime dunks and unstoppable 3's. but low post game is very good, the pump fakes, player movements and player response to the controls.

so my simple wishlist, is just get all the better features of the previous NBA lives and combine them in one perfect NBA live game. i just hope EA builds on what they already have and make their improvements from there. not just concentrate on graphics and animations but incorporate the real NBA gameplay and realism. what happens is from what i've observed is they start again from scratch, rush the development and forgot to put in some of the better features they had prior to it.

Wed Feb 08, 2006 9:17 am

Pretty much sums up how most longtime fans feel, I'd say. (Y)

my top wishes

1. add a sim to end feature...Ex. when you are leading by 20 at the half, press sim to end to sim the rest of the game
2. create a team like madden
3.mid level exceptions-remember that it is only available you are over cap, increases by 100 k a year...+ bi-annual(million dollar) exemption-remember you can not use it 2 years in a row..also goes up 100 k a year + larry bird, early bird, non-bird exceptions
4.trade block
5.pre game shootaround...and able to shootaround for 2 minutes?
6.sign and trades
7.10 day contracts
8.player options+team options on contracts
9.multi team trades
10.be able to change your freestyle superstar type at the pause menu while you play a game, or a timeout or quarter breaks
11.use a clutch rating-if your clutch rating is 99, you should be able to make all shots in the last 2 mins of a game if you are behind
12.arenas have authentic music and feel. msg and staple center should play organs....sacramento plays rap music etc
13.create an arena
14.owner mode like madden
15.more than 15 players on a roster

should all be easy to make since new systems are out
