why is my game running choppy?

online my game is running choppy. its very strange, because when i go to control+al+delete and i see the cpu performance the usage of nba live is going off the roof, and i dont know why. i have a very good connection, it isnt that, and its not the computer. has any1 else had this problem and solved it... or any ideas of what to do?

ive defragged my comp, cleansed it of spyware, still having problems. i just bought a new vid card, and its possibly the drivers, but i had this problem before i got the card

It helps if both you and who you play against use the lowest detail settings. It will decrease the grapics, but it should speed up the gameplay, which is worth it.

i always do that, its not a graphics problem
