Well, tough loss really.. Kobe cried...
Phil Jackson didn't like Kobe's shot selection against Portland, Kobe was 3-13 (around) from three point, Phil said that he shouldn't keep shooting when the team is behind just to get a hot hand.
Good game anyway, go Lakers...

I think that's the type of thing that Phil Jackson doesn't want, Kobe has to pour in 40 pts. just for the team to win.

He may not want it to be the way they win, but at the moment it seems to be the only way they are winning.

*yawn*

when is Kobe going to do something other than win every other game for the Lakers. This mediocrity is boring.

... i'd like to see some variation in his game winning shots. Maybe something going to the basket rather than insane contorted shots.

Good win today and Kobe didn't score 40+ which is good, cause I'd trade that for a win! (Y)

LA Times wrote:Turiaf Picks Los Angeles Over Spain

Ronny Turiaf has agreed in principle to sign with the Lakers and will join the team by Monday, his agent said.

Turiaf, who had open-heart surgery less than six months ago, averaged 13 points and 6.3 rebounds in nine games with the CBA's Yakama (Wash.) Sun Kings.

"He's packing his bags and getting ready to fly down on Monday," said Turiaf's agent, Bouna Ndiaye, who said he finalized contract details with Laker General Manager Mitch Kupchak on Thursday.

"We talked about terms and conditions of the contract and now [team owner] Dr. Jerry Buss has to approve everything. We're probably going to sign this weekend, or Monday at the latest. That's what we're expecting. I don't see any problems."

The Lakers play Miami on Monday, but Turiaf probably will not play.

This week, when it was not certain whether Turiaf would sign with the Lakers or accept a more lucrative offer in Spain, Laker Coach Phil Jackson said the second-round draft pick could play about six to eight minutes a game.

The Lakers must waive a player to accommodate Turiaf and will probably release guard Laron Profit, who is expected to miss the rest of the season because of a ruptured Achilles' tendon.

Profit, who averaged 4.2 points, is owed his entire $836,000 salary, but the Lakers technically won't be paying it. The Washington Wizards gave the Lakers enough money to cover Profit's salary when he was acquired by the Lakers as part of the Kwame Brown trade in August.

Turiaf, 23, concluded his CBA stint with 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists Tuesday against Sioux Falls (S.D.).

"It's a dream for him, you know," Ndiaye said. "It's an amazing story. I think the crowd will be going crazy for him in his first [Laker home] game."

- Good to see Turiaf signing with the Lakers! (Y) Brings hustle to the Lakers which is what they need on D!

Goes to show you how badly they wanted to get rid of Kwame... Not only did they do that but:

-They got rid of Profit for free(pun intended)

-They got Caron Butler

-They got Chucky Atkins, who still is precious trade bait

Hmm... I wonder who came on top of that trade in the end...

And lest we forget, Kwame is owed 27 million dollars by the Lakers for the next 3 years.

Go Mitch!

goodness- maybe if Brown wasn't such a spaz, he'd be a decent player on offense.

Last nite he had some good post moves but he couldn't convert the shot, which was right by the basket, for whatever reason. He's one of the few players that consistently airball or just hit the backboard on "gimme-type" shots (N)

Thats what I have noticed! He seems to be able to get around players pretty well with some nice little post moves but he can't hit easy basket afterwards!

I was watching the game, didn't see him cry. It was probably when ruben patterson hit him in the eye.

The Lakers-Warriors game is what Mitch would think Kwame's numbers would be probably on the season or they could develop him into. The guy's only 24 years old. Look at Jermaine O'Neal, he averaged like 4 pts in 4 years then became better and better. He was in Portland though and I guess he came to a team he was comfortable with...maybe Kwame will breakout if he finds a team he can play comfortably...but as everyone says most likely Kwame's caarer is gonna go into the shitter...

The problem is Kwame always has the occasional game which makes everyone's eyebrows raise a bit before he continues being.. Kwame. I did have hopes that he would develop but it's clearly taking a while but I guess since most of the team isn't comfortable with the triangle yet... we will need to wait maybe one more month before we can say if this team is going to stay together for next season.

Kwame rushes in post and he misses very easy shots. If he made all his easy shot, then he will be much better players.
