Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

The fans have spoken!

IGN run a poll asking who makes the best sports games. I found this at the other games forum.

2k got 63% of the vote
EA got 37% of the vote

We already last the NFL, I just hope EA will allow competetion to continue in the future for the NBA games, if not, the law need to stop this monopoly.

We already last the NFL

We lost Major League Baseball, too. :(

Football and baseball are two of the richest sports out there, why did they only license rights to one company? The NBA licensed both 2k and EA.
WTF?!?!

I think the Gameplay in Live the last two years has been better than 2K's. I love B-Ball games and believe me I don't care who makes the games. I'm going to play which ever game is the best on court and the last two years Live has been better IMO.

2K's games have been solid right out the box and feel more SIM but after tweaking Live the last two years Ican say the gameplay has been better. I purchased both games last year and this year I only rented 2K's games. But for the week I spent with it I lost more and more interest after seeing things I didn't care for overall.

Both games have their flaws but Live was just more addictive the more I played.

johnnyboy must have been speaking from the 2k perspective, but I like to have a choice of which game to play. I meant why did baseball and football only grant a license to one company each.

2k went downhill since 2k3( i loved dat game)

I agree, I went over my friends house all the time, just to play 2k3, and I had Live 2003.

How does 2k getting more votes = a monopoly.
a monopoly would be Madden where there is no compatition. The NBA has already stated they are not going that rout, so don't worry about it.

I'll care about 2k when they start porting to PC, and that ain't gonna happen.

They would sell so much more games if they went to PC. Because on PC you can edit things. Like um maybe roster lol how could you stand to play it on a console. IMO

Im not a fanboy because I own some 2K games an some EA games and I must say EA makes more fun games and more games, like NBA Street series, SSX and a lot of other sports while 2K Sports only concentrates on MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL.

I own both NBA Live 06 and NBA 2K6 and I must say Live is MUCH mroe enjoyable, I mean the shot stick in 2K6 is just horrible, and it makes the game kinda bad, I mean instead of a shot stick, it should be crosses, that would be a lot better. In terms of overall graphics, I msut say NBA Live has better graphics, maybe not the players, but everything else, from stadiums to courts, from jerseys to shoes. The courts in Live 06 actually look like hte courts in real life, with all the logos and everything, while (it seems like) 2K6 uses the same model/template and just changes the colour of the courts and different logos (and they are missing a lot of logos).

Hipn I hate your sig but I agree with you. ESPN games feel very rigid at times. Give me madden over the old nfl series anyday.

A lil off topic, but how much did EA pay for the rights to the nfl license? 500 million? Thats not far off what some Tv companies for the right to broadcast games. Video games has come so far...
