A rant about some stuff in the game

Postby Black Hawk on Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:46 pm

Sorry if this in the wrong section.

Not sure if they're bugs are half-assed features but there are some stuff in the game that stop me from fully enjoying it.

1. Rebounding - I know offensive rebounding is originally buggy but this is pathetic. I've set the slider to 0 but I can still get 7-10 (with a single player) offensive rebouds per game. I get more OB's than DB's. Aside from that, there are times where I can't get the simplest defensive rebounds. The ball bounces right infront of me and nobody is near me. I jump to get it and the damn thing passes right by me and into the other team's hands.

2. Penetrating - Somehow, if the PG is set to penentrate or wants to get close to the basket, there's nothing I can do to stop it. I could have Ben Wallace guarding Earl Boykins and Boykins just pushes Ben in. No backdowns, crossovers or going around, just pushing the player.

3. Shooting - I could be on a guard like white on rice. Hands in the air and down by the sides, anticipating his crossovers and stuff. Suddenly he pulls off a shot (with me jumping to block) and swish. I could try the same thing and hit nothing but rim (and I time them pretty well). I try it off a pass, nothing. Hell, I've tried them alone and alot of the times I miss. There are days when I'm hot from the field but those are pretty rare (even if I have all 3-point shooters on the team).

4. Come from behind - I could be winning by 25pts at the end of the half. In the next half the other team could start with all their bench players and they'd still lower the lead to atleast 5 (alot of the times I end up trailing). All of a sudden they start making all the shots and I start missing them.

5. Blocking - Sometimes when I'm close to the rim waiting for a block and opposing player get's the ball under rim, when he shoots I try to block my player does nothing. It's like the other player was so close he jammed he or something.

These have probably have been said before but I needed to say them cause they're pissing me off

On 1, 2 and 5, i somehow agree but on 3 you must really suck at shooting....

i never really expericience the come from behind...

I think i dun get rebounds because i suck at it...but i seem to see other people with these problems

The "come from behind CPU cheating/Player sucking" deal has been a staple of every EA Sports game ever created.

I really agree with #2, computer controlled point guards always seems to score the most and at will.

The shooting can be fixed by sliders. Trust me.

Haven't really experience 1 or 5.

for #4 the come from behind, check to make sure that "close game" or something like that is turned off in game options, it keeps the game close by making the team thats down go on a run

I use to hate that come from behind bug but i found a way to stop it.

Play at all-star level but adjust your sliders to make sure the game is still as challenging as it is on superstar. by doing this you get the challenging gameplay without the "come from behind" bug.
Kobe's favorite player talks about Kobe
"I think he does what he has to do," San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili said. "Of course, there's a difference between 35 and 25 shots, but he's got that ability to make every shot. Even if it's in front of two guys he jumps so high on fadeaways it doesn't matter. He's got so many resources, it's easy for him to take 35 shots. If I was his teammate, I wouldn't care."

on numero 2...
i remember when i just started my dynasty when i only started playing them games (an i was hella good at this point after a couple hours) and golden states startin PG (they traded for iverson) was injured so speedy claxton was playin an he dropped somethin like 67 on me no problem...
to add to that even when i put substitution frequency to 100 all starters played 48 minutes so i end up switching teams to sub FOR them to try and make my fucking game fucking mroe fucking realistic!   :x

I find the game fairly realistic, just play around with the sliders, tweak them according to your playing style and you're all set.

on number 5... i think that's what happens when your blocker is right beneath the ring that he can't jump for his life.

yeah the offensive rebounding thing happens to me, on the boards on d it does seem harder. i agree with you 100% on #2. I can't stop a PG to save my life, I know I'm not that great at NBA Live but on 05 i could stop PG's.
on #3, and #4 never happen to me. #5 is really annoying and it happens all the time, especially in One on One.
