Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

NBA Live 06 on XBox 360

Postby [Q] on Sat Dec 24, 2005 8:28 am

I just got finished watching the vids of Live on 360 on the official website
http://www.easports.com/nbalive06/index.jsp

Here are my thoughts on it.
Immediately, it's obvious why the PC/PS2/Xbox versions were not much of an improvement over 2005. They had spent most of their resources on the 360 Version.

During the gameplay, I was impressed with the crowd standing after a dunk by the home team.
As far as the players go, in some clips, it seemed like not only the players, but everything seemed too dark. But in some clips the players looked fine. I don't know why that is.
On the site there was a screenshot of Rip holding the ball at his side at the FT line... I don't have the 360 version, but maybe somone who does can tell me if there are FT rituals back in the game.
Create a player is a whole lot better, and the headband seemed to fit a lot better on the player too.
Anyways, that's all I could gather on the 360 version from the videos... I don't know if there are any new features in the 360 version, but I'm gonna read some more on that.

Yes free throw rituals for some players are back. Dont get it twisted though. NBA live for the 360 has a ways to go. They have to add franchise mode back, freestyle superstar, replay mode (yes, replay mode), and a host of other things they took out. To me it is obvious that they focused on graphics, beacause gampley wise its the same, in fact scaled back with the superstar feature getting taking out. But i know EA did it for a reason, so i'm expecting greatness for 07, esp. with the ESPN liscense in effect.

P.S Message to EA. There are 512MB in this beast called xbox 360, dont fu*k up

hmm well I think they should integrate the L and R buttons to aim from 2k AND do the right stick for power. best way to simulate free throw shooting... you'll need the good accuracy and just enough power.

that would give me nightmares, i have such poor hand-eye cooardination. if it was like that, i wouldnt be surprised if i finished the season with my team shooting 40% for freethrows. neat idea though.

Can you post some Toronto Raptors pics? Like Chis Bosh on an ally, Mo Pete for a 3 and Mike James on a 3?

really? now what's their reason for removing that.. superstars are the major highlight in 06. still, i want a 360! lol. or maybe wait until the PS3 and its version of nba live comes. :D is the controller the same as with the original xbox. i've played with it once and had a hard time. direct pass is so hard to do with the default keys. lol. :P :D

nah dude, the new 360s have an extra left and right trigger button to match the PS controllers, so i don't think the old controllers will work

The freethrow system is Ok once you get the hang of it. The bad part is that there is no tutorial or way to practice at all. Once i got the hang of it i found it great, and heres why. When i'm nervous i miss, and when i am not and i take my time i make it. Simple as that. I still think it is too hard to begin with, but once it is found out it is kind of... fun.

P.S EA I expect alot of great things for NBA Live 2007. Dont let me down.
