Can you only have 29 teams in a season

Postby 2klakers on Mon Dec 19, 2005 3:11 am

Is it possible to only have 29 teams in a season, like it was before 2003?

Well people have noticed that this year, the rebounding is one-sided. This slider adjustment makes it a lot more even.

2klakers wrote:Look, I don't know if someone has posted this before, but I have found something that really helps. It may sound crazy, but set the cpu offensive and defensive rebounding slider to 100 and set the user offensive and defensive rebounding to 0. I was getting rebounds over shaq with allen iverson. EA prob messed up that slider, but no one's perfect.

at first i had problem too, but after practicing, everything became normal...for me at least

Are you sure? you think it is backwards?

and please stop with the old "practice" garbage. If i have a guy with 95 rebounding skills then i should not have to box out. in madden i don't use my OL to block? there are some things in a game where the ratings are supposed to work.

my new thing is that i now play my 59 rated SF at PF (off the bench) because he has 90 plus jumping. he gets tons of rebounds. jump rating is the key.

That´s true. Jumping rating rocks. You can get lots of reobunds with JR Smith (for example), cuz his jumping rating.
Cya!!

No, but if you do 'practice' enough, you can throw pretty well with some bad 2nd string QBs, or follow blockers well with a backup RB, etc. As I've stated several times, all ratings do is give the guy with higher ones a greater chance of success all things equal. Now, if you're not good at working for rebounds, then I hope you lose rebounds with a guy with 99 Reb to a guy with 10, because you have no business bitching, then. You think Kevin Garnett doesn't box out because he's such a good rebounder? No, he's such a good rebounder because he boxes out and positions himself properly, times his jumps, etc.

All this whining sounds a lot like sour grapes for simply not being able to grasp the ability, to me.

I gave up 35 ORB yesterday. Valerjo got 15? Now, many of will say that i should box out but most of the rebounds have nothing to do with that. they are missed jumpers which the ball soars in the air. the cpu then flies through the air like jordan and gets the ball over my back. i have postion.

Do you have O. Reb sliders at 0 and D. Reb sliders at 100? That should help, in the very least. I get 11-13 O. Reb's on average, with my sliders, but then again, I edited all the O. Reb Ratings in the game...

Yes, but i already started my dyansty. i play on superstar as well. if it has never happened to you then i think you are in the minority. or you have great jumping (and not great defensive rebounding) big men.

I have accepted it. but it is the only thing that irks me about this game. well, one more thing.

joe johnson continually is a MVP contender? he averages over 34 ppg? 7 reb and 8 assits?

i now sub in my 59 rated SF over my 75 PF because of his jump rating. in his milited playing time he gets double the amount of boards. i then don't try to score with him.

Pull back a guard to help try and grad D-Rebounds. It helps immensely.

I don't know, I've been getting used to the offensive rebounding and at the same time turning my offensive rebounding to 0 and defensive rebounding to 100 has really helped me the first game in my dynasty.

No, Dynasty Mode won't support more than or less than 30 teams. A possible solution is to edit the schedule dbf files so that the Bobcats (I'm guessing you want to know for the 2000/2001 or 1999/2000 rosters) don't play anybody.

Andrew, can you summarize how I can make it so that the bobcats don't play anybody in a season without making the game crash? I'm not talking about 29 teams in a Dynasty, but 29 teams in a season.
