upgrading to 06

Postby Decker87 on Thu Dec 08, 2005 10:08 am

Hi. I have NBA Live 2001 right now for computer...but I'm thinking about upgrading to 06, so I have a few questions:

I never really understood what direct shoot is. Is it in NBA 06?

What kinds of computers (videocards and Ghz) do you who play it for PC have, and does it run smoothly?

Also, what exactly is a superstar? Is it a play known for certain types of moves? (For example, V. Carter might be a superstar for dunking?)

I have had some trouble in 2001 with missing dunks and layups at some weird moments. Does this happen in 06?

Hey.

I'd say the upgrade from 2001 to 06 is well worth it. While I'm unsure of the necessary specs, I can tell you what I run the game on:

768m of RAM with an nVIDIA ge-force 5500 OC 256m PCI video card.

As for superstars, when a player has certain ratings in a given area, you can choose to give them a certain superstar tag (e.g. Inside Scorer, Shooter, Dunker). If a player has one of these tags (limit: one on offense and defense), using the Superstar trigger (equivalent to L1 on PS2 or the '5' button on my controller) and one of the four standard play buttons (1-4) will make the player utilize their superstar abilities. For example, Vince Carter, who is a Dunker superstar, will do various power and flashy dunks, colliding with players and mowing them over, etc., while Steve Nash will do no look, between the legs, behind the back bounce passes, or Kobe Bryant (Outside Scorer) will do a fade away, or behind the back double pump lay up, etc.
