IGN rates NBA Live 06 on XBox 360

It got a 5.9 and they said this about it...

"If you have some friends and family over and you want to show them something impressive about the 360, turn on Live and have them check out the loading screen. Seriously, the loading screen of Live is amazing, maybe the best thing about the game."

if you have seen this, you would totally know what they are talking about but by the looks of things, it seems that most people havent seen it. It is seriously amazing. while its loading, it will first show like these banners of nba allstars like from the ea allstar game arena (ie in the banners have the likes of nash, stoudemire, lebron) then have this net and rim pop up from the ground, fold from the ground and up. then wade (not sure if it is always wade), will come up from the freethrow line, and you can have a mini individual practice going on while you wait. When i watched the vid, after wade made the basket, another heat player popped up and started shooting around. in the background there is this jumbotron thingy kinda like the thing you see in the slam dunk contest mode, in the background saying "arena in construction." when it does load, everything shuts down (ie. the net and rim fold back down into the ground, wade goes back under the court and then it zooms right into the the normal starting screen (the thing when they show the 2 teams playing and their record). it may seem kinda weird since i gave a bad description, but its fairly impressive for a loading screen. but the game itself isnt too much different other then the amazing graphics, but the commentary sounded more "smart." meaning they mention more things. also, there is this menu thing that allows you to make last minute changes or soemthing to your lineup, you have to see it for yourself because im not too sure what it is actually.

heres a link to the vid: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/748/ ... ids_2.html
(it is under the gameplay #5 vid and ad, labelled play while it loads)

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/748/ ... ids_3.html
(here is the part where the loading is complete and it transfers to the game, very fluid transition i say, labbed loading complete)

That's a weird loading screen... ultra long and really pretty unnecessary.

There's the review, sounds horrible.

Presentation
Playable loading screen is the highlight of the game. Unfortunately, the game eventually loads.

Damn it sounds like I'm going to love this one. I never play the dunk contest or the 3pt. shootout. I pretty much play seasons and hit the replay every once in awhile. Sounds like this guy wanted it to blow him between timeouts on the features.

If you download the video of this review you can really hear this guys hate for this game and it almost comes off to me as if he is a 2k6 fanboy. The guy reminds me of someone who didn't get his pre play copy and is showing his ass to them now for screwing him over.

hm... yeah i kinda understand... they did take out like a shitload of features that made Live great.. i love good graphics.. but i love even more the depth and content of a game.. and taking out dynasty.. big mistake in my mind. There aint no way i'm getting it. I will stick to my laptop version fo Live, where they actually have a dynasty mode

Well yeah, the features are more important than things like "Sound" which it got a 9 or something.

As far as him being a 2K6 fanboy... why is it that people here seem to think anyone who has anything negative to say about Live at all is a 2K fanboy? "I don't like the cover" "OMG UR A 2K FANBOI SHUT UP". Idiots.

This is expected. NO FRANCHISE MODE = SUCKS. No matter how you put it. Plus IGN, usually prefers NBA Live in comparison to NBA 2k6. Just look at their ratings that are not Next-Gen. 5.9 is a pretty hilarious rating though. Probably worst Live rating ever. Let's give an applause to EA Canada for this new record! YAY~!

As for the guys who were waiting for the Xbox 360 version of Live, guess you guys were shafted, not us PC users or current gen console users! PUHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Bored.

I'm so happy that they called EA on this piece of shit game that really never should have been released in the first place!

lets just hope the PS3 version is better since their blue ray media is 25gb not 4.7gb, so surely that will allow them to have more to work with feature wise.

A very bad year for gamers.
Let's recap it:

- I got Live 06 in October and it sucks. It may be a matter of tastes but there are so many wrong things I can't even et started

- So I turn o 2k6, and the PAl version is scheduled Nov 25th....and now I find out it's been delayed to Jan 30th 2006...ridiculous

- So I think about Live 06 on 360...and the only good thing seem to be the loading screen???

F#$% everyone. All I asked for was a good playable NBA game. i got none.

look at the interview with Tim Tschirner... They're only talking about graphic parts of the game  They don't give a single word about the gameplay, that should say everything...

Tim Tschirner: From the beginning, our two main goals were authenticity and realism. In terms of authenticity, we wanted to see every player in the league represented at the highest level of detail, and we wanted them to play in arenas so accurate and rich with detail that you could actually find your season ticket seats. And we didn't want to stop at just accurate likeness in game characters. We literally wanted to build "humans who play NBA basketball" with all of the complexities of human appearance and behavior.

Authenticity and realism... we've been asking that for years! Thank you EA!... oh wait, you mean just the graphics? I see.

Also, if you look at the loading video animation... Wade basically appears from the ground, looking around like he has no idea where he is. The camera zooms in and he's inexplicably covered in sweat

That loading screen yall are ranting about makes me not wanna play the game. I am so impatient that if it takes that long to load (so much time that i can practice with multiple plays and popup from underground etc etc) I would probably go insane. I dont even like waiting for the start screen to load when i pause ingame.

I expected the game to suck..as soon as EA made up some contrived excuse as to why they took all those key features out. Fact is..they didnt have the time needed to add that shit to the game. Once again the 2K series starts out ahead with this generation of consoles.

For Live07, they should put the FSS back and add more FSS moves or ability, and new animations
