Question regarding editing rosters - thanks in advance

Postby zan_tabak on Tue Nov 01, 2005 5:07 am

Great forum - I'm a first time poster.

I started playing in dynasty mode and realized about 8 games in that one of the team rosters is incorrect. How do I modify the database (and which one would I modify) to move the player the correct team without losing all the other saved information?

Or is there an easier way to do it?

Thanks a lot.

Welcome :P

You would have to edit his team in the players.dbf to the team you want him on. Teams are recognized with an ID number that corresponds to where they are alphabetically.

And I'm going to see them in Toronto!

Basically two attributes you need to edit in players.dbf, though you might need to do it for a few players to get the results you want and avoid a crash: TEAM and ROSTERPOS.

The TEAM value, as the name implies, is the team whose roster the player is on. ROSTERPOS (or roster position) is the slot on the roster the player occupies, ranging from 0 to 14 with 0 being Starting Centre and 14 being the third player on the IR. Remember, each team can have a maximum of 15 players and no two players on the one team can share the same ROSTERPOS value, which is why you'll have to edit a couple of players to move them around and re-order the lineups.
