Atlanta Dynasty - what to do?

Postby deebee on Tue Oct 11, 2005 11:36 am

I decided to go for a challenge and take up using the Hawks for a dynasty team.

I've made a bunch of trades/signings using the default rosters.

I traded:
Tony Delk for Udonis Haslem
Boris Diaw for Kyle Korver
Josh Childress for Eddy Curry
Marvin Williams/Tom Gugliotta for Michael Redd/Dan Gadzuric

I made some signings as well so now I've got:

Starting
C-Curry
PF-Harrington
SF-Smith
SG-Redd
PG-Stoudamire

Bench
C-Gadzuric
PF-Haslem
SF-Korver
SF-Smith
SG-Van Exel
PG-Lue
PG-House

I've done a scenario where I went ahead and made some more trades but dont know yet if they were the right ones, here goes:

Damon Stoudamire/Ivey to Miami for Jason Williams
Haslem, Van Exel, Some scrub to Boston for Gerald Green, Mark Blount, Brian Scalabrine
Eddie House LAL for Chris Mihm

My main problem is interior defense, computer seems to get into the paint and score as they wish. Also, I'm looking for a playmaker. Who should I be looking to get to strengthen the middle and be pointguard? Who should I get rid of?

yea take advantege of Josh Smith's rediculous rating. I got Rashard Lewis out of him... what a deal. Also take advantage of the big cap room. Sign all young and talented players, then trade them for the ones you like. I really like Harrington in the game. He's a monster.

I strarted a Dynasty with Atlanta yesterday - here are some trades I suggest:

- Tyrone Lue (67) for Kwarme Brown [LAL] (74) - they do it cause they need a PG

- Marvin Williams (76) and Kwarme Brown for Paul Pirece (89) and Ricky Davis (74) Boston of course - DONT KNOW WHY THEY DO IT BUT IT WORKS - Pierce got 89!!! - And you keep Josh Smith !!!!

I also traded:

- Jason Collier (61) and Donte Smith (63) for Brendan Haywood [WAS] (69) and Chucky Atkins (65)

- Al Harrington (76), Josh Childress (74) and Boris Diaw (70) for Emeka Okafor (78) and Kareem Rush (66) - one fine Big Man!!!

Starting Five: C Brendan Haywood (69)
PF Emeka Okafor (78)
SF Josh Smith (80)
SG Paul Pierce (89)
PG Tony Delk (68)

+ Ricky Davis on the Bank - or you could trade him and Delk for a decent PG
+ 7 or 8 millions Salary Cap space and some players with 1 year rem. - so you should be able to get some nice FA during Off-Seasom

What a nice Start....

Salary relief also counts.

In the deal for Pierce you almost absorb 9 millons. moreover, Marvis is much younger and with huge potential in the game. That counts as well.

I've started a Hawks Dynasty and I really need a good C to be Power Superstar if possible. I'm using Ben's roster with some updates. I'm looking to trade Al Harrington to make room for rookie Marvin Williams :P maybe Josh Childress and the rest (J-Smoove and Joe Johnson will not be traded  ) and I'm trying to get Big Ben but it's too damn hard  . Can someone help me out 8-) :?:

Okay so I ended up trading Gerald Green and Chris Mihm to LAC for Corey Maggette

Also traded Mark Blount/Brian Scalabrine for Jake Voskuhl (Salary Dump)
Moved Josh Smith for Yao Ming
Traded Eddy Curry for JR Smith

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of getting a rookie back on my team that I can use and develop..

My starting 5 are:
C-Yao Ming
PF-Al Harrington
SF-Corey Maggette
SG-Michael Redd
PG-Jason Williams

big mistake if you traded marvin williams, after 3 seasons ine the starting five this guy really explodes and tkes your team on top with about 30-35 points per game and good rebs/defense stats too. I play my dynasty with the hawks too and williams rulz lol
