Different post-up move here

Postby air on Fri Oct 07, 2005 7:22 am

There seems to be countless "how to back down" threads so I figured I could get through to more people with a thread, this is also not about the posting up you're used to so it's a different subject.

So your big guy has the rock. Make sure he's bouncing it (with his right hand, the defender to his left). Press the cursor that points towards the defender, then hit the power dribble/pro hop button with the cursor held. Your player will hit the defender with his shoulder. Takes a little practice to get it right.

If you succeed, it's an easy two or a defensive foul is called - if not, your guy lets go of the ball or you get an offensive foul. I feel this is more realistic and challenging compared to Live 2005, where most players would just give you the space when you posted up. Then again in 06 you won't even need this move if you've got your sliders on default.

What do you think?

Pull the stick down (direction wise) don't press it down like a button. Same action you make with the stick when you go into a defensive crouch.

That's old, here's another one, while using the controller:

You big man has the ball, his back to the basket, in the triple threat position:

Hold Up so that goes face up with the defender, then quickly move from up to the right with the analog, he'll double shot fake and pooF! your defender is in the air, even when the "shot fake" slider is on 100.

Quickly move to the basket and bam! easy 2!

But for me this is by far the most realistic post up move and I don't see why people would not use this instead of asking for the old one.
