You computer is pretty good. The latest games like Battlefield 2 require a 2.4GHz processor while your is a 2.7. You can buy a new video card, if your are an average gamer a 9600XT or a 9800 Pro would be the best. I say that no point of buying a computer right now because your specs are pretty decent.

if you update the videocard you should be able to play games that come out this year fluently.

forget 2 or 4 years, a pc never lasts that long. when i talk about playing games i mean at least 1024x768 with medium settings. anything lower just does the game no justice.
why wait for blu-ray? that is easily added afterwards since its just a drive. and what do you mean by HD-DVD?
games like FEAR and Quake IV, being released within 2 weeks will already run like shit on your PC believe me.

easyinfo is a program that comes with their games, its in the "Support" directory of EA games...I think.

 at the Printing instructions on the second pic

qoke get yourself I nice x800xt or x850(6800 or 7800 if you go nvidia) and another 512mb of system ram and you should be able to run most games at medium/high or maximum settings.

I got an XP2500+ @ 2.2ghz 1 Gig of ram, x800xt agp and I can run the F.E.A.R. demo at maximum but with a little "cacheing" (hitching when turning corners).

I'd say $400 and you'll be set. You could also spend the $400 on a next-gen 8-) console.

Question for the original poster --- are you using WindowsBlind? if so, I used to have it too. Very nice !

If you play games every now and then and not the most demanding games out there - say Battlefield 2, FEAR, Half-Life 2, etc then your computer is good to go.

I basically use my computer for everything. Video editing, gaming, internet, school work, and so on and has lasted me for 4 years now. My specs are as follow:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Athlon XP 2500+
Corsair XMS 1 GB DDR
MSI Geforce Ti 4200 64 MB DDR
Samsung 17" LCD
Creative 2.1 Speakers
2 Seagate 200 GB Hard Drives 7200 rpm

More than likely, I will be buying building a new computer by Christmas time. I wanna get a mobi with pci express slot 16x, an AMD 64 X2, keep my current Corsair RAM, buy a SATA Hard drive, and probably buy a 19 or 20+ inches LCD monitor with DVI-D or I and of course a Video Card (not sure which one yet.)

Believe me, computer last longer than you think! if you don't just use for gaming. My bro has been using his comp for over 10 years now, he has a what? duron processor, some sdram LOL and who knows what vid card he has in the box.

Peace out!
