slow framerate with GeForce 4 Ti 4200!!!

Discussion about NBA Live 2003.

Hey, I had the same problem. Here is what I did to fix my performance problems:
1. Get RivaTuner: http://www.guru3d.com/files/rivatuner/
2. Ensure you have the lasted Nvidia drivers.
3 Update your AGP driver should haven't already done so.
4. Extract RivaTuner into its own folder, then run it.
5. Go to the PowerUser tab, disregard the warning, then look at the bottom for the folder icons. You want the second one from the left which when selected displays "Open matched Detonator database." Click it.
6. Once it loads, find the fifth line, it should say, "NVIDIA Detonator 29.4x w2k(even if you have XP) System."
7. Once found, scroll down to "Enable Ali AGP." Right click it, click the lighted bulb, and make sure that "1" appeared in the right-hand "Value" column. Exit RivaTuner and reboot.
8.Once rebooted, initate a directx diagnostic and you should find that you can enable the AGP texture acceleration.

I can now run NBA Live 2003 at 1024 res full details with aniso enabled and its smooth as hell. It also boosted my 3dmark score from 5000 to 7500!

i use 30.82, anything higher and i get random crashes. Before enabling agp accel i could barely play nba-live at medium settings, for some reason every program I tried said agp acceleration was enabled so I didn't figure that was the problem, turns out it was really off. so i'd advise you to make sure the riva program says its on.

my system:

amd thunderbird 1.33ghz
geforce 4 4200 128mb
512mb ddram

This sucks SOOOOOOO BAD....

Game doesn't run smoothly on a:
Pentium 4 2400ghz
768 DDR RAM @ 333mhz
64 Mb GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (latest update)
1 x 40 GB @ 5,400rpm
1 x 60 GB @ 7,200rpm
Windows XP Pro
Microsoft Sindwinder Controller (USB)
Also connected a Zip (USB) and Scanner (USB)

Playing it at max and 800x600x32 it is playable, but sometimes the framerate fucks up and when i play it at medium and at 640x480x32 it still has problems... anyone idea's?

I have that latest updates and patches for everything

I can play UT2003 at MAX, that game is heavy.

btw Coldkevin, JSP stand for Java Server Pages. COMPLETLY different then JavaScript or JScript.....

I didn't have aproblem installing the patch.
Just press the button, wait till the image says "Patch Available" and press it again and it will be installed.

NOTE:

Be sure Active X is enabled and security settings set to low/medium in Internet Explorer. (Tools -> Internet Options... -> Security -> Custom Level and change the settngs there.

While the patch is being installed, please be patient, your pc might free for a sec or 2.

I don't have any slowdowns running this game. I have the following:

P4 1.7GHz
768MB DDR RAM
GeForce Ti 4200 64MB

I'm not sure, but I would think that perhaps it may be the fact you're running SDRAM instead of DDR. It does make an enormous difference. I'm running this game with the settings maxed out and I have no slowdowns after the initial tip-off.
