here are a few noob questions i have: kindly answer each question:

im pretty sure there's may more to come so kindly visit this thread from time to time to answer my questions.

1.what happen to the hesitation move? the one in live 2005 while driving to the basket and pressing right analog down.

2.how do u know which player you will pass to if you use special pass of playmakers? can you use direct pass? can u do special pass while in mid-air or while in mid-air doing a special dunk?

3.in off-ball mode, how do u set a screen? it's L1 in live 2005.

4.how do you box out?

5.under roster management, there is a new section freestyle superstars:
eg. duncan inside scorer: enabled, inside defender: enabled, power: disabled. other(outside scorer:n/a)
what does this mean? can you enable both power and inside scorer at the same time?

6.i noticed this very effective technique in 2005 which is fake then drive can't seem to work the same in 2006. in 2005, u just press fake then move to any direction and you're open. in 2006, seems like i slow down after a fake or i can't move to a direction.

Thnx!

jajajaja

No. Only one for offense and one for defense. For example, you can be both power and inside stopper. But not power and inside scorer.

how come there are times when using L1(left trigger) + shoot, pass, pro-hop, dunk/layup under the basket, the special move doesn't trigger? sometimes, it takes me around 3 tries before duncan makes his special layup. sometimes i just get the ball stripped or stolen or duncan just walks around.

1. That was replaced for a new one, that's all.
2. You can use the directional keys on your controller to direct it to wherever you want. It works just like a regular pass.
4. Right analog stick down
5. Bada Bling has the answer

Last question, not sure. I've never experienced it, so I have no idea. Perhaps you need to hold the left trigger longer, or push harder on the buttons or something like that. Also remember that you can only do the moves when you’re not doing any other move.

wow. tnx. you almost answered all my questions except how to set a screen in off-ball mode.

i have a new question:

in the freestyle crossover moves: in 2005, the move you do with moving right analog up then left or right(opposite of hand with ball) is now done in 2006 with just moving right analog left or right? is this correct?

no one answering my questions. too bad. i have more.

about the shoulder fake/dropstep in nba live 2005, which is done by holding prohop button. You can still do it in 2006 but not with freestyle superstars like duncan, ginobilli. they do not shoulderfake but instead do a slow dropstep unlike players like other nonsuperstar players.

is there anyway i can do the shoulderfake/dropstep move with duncan/other freestyle superstars?

i pray to God that my questions be answered.

Seems like my prayers haven't been answered.

new question: how come there are times when using an outside scorer, left trigger + pass button or left trigger + dunk/layup buton makes they player do a flip shot(a shot that is literally flipped like a teardrop with a very quick release, which very rarely goes in) instead of the freestyle superstar layups?

I think the flip layup occurs when the player tries to execute in a lot of traffic close to the basket

look here: http://www.easports.com/nbalive06/tips.jsp?id=freestylecontrols
right now there are freestyle control and in-depth offense
just click the diagrams if it's too small. this gives the answer for the pick while off ball (L2, on the in-depth offense) and all the things on the shoulder fake and that (on the freestyle control part)

i already tried that. i think they have an error there. im just not sure, can anyone confirm this. L2 does nothing in off-ball mode. while L1 sets a pick for the controlled player in off-ball mode and not on the ballhandler.

about the shoulder fake, it works on normal players but not on freestyle scorers.

has anyone noticed easy reverse layups under the basket? you don't need a freestyle superstar, take any player and force your way under the basket and press the layup button and its an easy two. this is almost unblockable or very hard to time the block.

i have searched the forums and i can't get a definite answer.

how do you dive for a loose ball? pressing the dunk/layup button doesn't do it anymore? i have tried pressing left trigger + arrow(towards ball) + twice press dunk/layup button, this worked but i can't seem to do it consistently.

and the move that the players lowers their heads and splits defenders. i heard someone said that it's automatic.

can anyone confirm these 2 questions pls. thanks.

The dive for the ball is the same as last year (at least on the PC), but this year you got to be closer to the ball and the ball got to be closer to the floor.

Yes, the splitting the defense animation is automatic, and sometimes occurs when you are coming in between two defenders.

Yea, it's a very abusive move. I think I've seen that missed only a handful times.

question: sometimes the freestyle superstar move (especially the inside scorer's hook shot) doesn't trigger. what causes this? i'm pretty sure i'm pressing both left trigger and pass.

when you use freestyle superstar moves, does the release still affects the shot? eg. when brent barry(shooter) makes his fakepass shot do you still have to make the right release?

Not sure why the moves doens't trigger..

I think that it has a little to do with the release of a shot, yes. I've noticed that if you hold the quick release too long, chances are it won't go it. But if you just hold it for a short period of time, it tends to go in more frequently. Though I'm not 100% sure about that..

That must be for PS2, because L2 on the PC does not do the off ball pick.

so far after a month i still have questions unanswered.

i have a favorite move i used to do in 2005 with duncan:
1. i use off-ball mode to position him on the low block, left side of the court (the area where he loves to shoot bank shots in real life).
2. then i give a jabstep by pressing right analog stick to the "right" but then i press the direction button to the left so i go to the baseline instead. using left hand dribbling.
3. when i reach under the basket, i hold pro-hop button so that i do a dropstep/spin off duncan's left shoulder then make a hook shot.

in live 2006:
i can still do this with other players(nonfreestyle superstar) but not inside scorers like time duncan. he just has different animation if you hold pro-hop button. is there any way i can make him to do what the normal(nonfreestyle) players do? the shoulderfake/dropstep in 2005?

i hope somebody gets what i just tried to ask. thanks i really would appreciate an answer.

try tapping the drop step/jump stop button instead of holding it.
