When the other team shoots, tap up or tap down on the right analog stick, and your player will stay in the box out position. It really helps me, because I only have two triggers on my Wingman Rumblepad, and other functions were more important to me to put on the triggers than box out (directswitch and turbo).
This also works when boxing out for free throws! I haven't seen this on any freestyle move lists, so I thought I'd point it out.
