it seems like computer is a lot smarter now (look at the score and their defense style wow!), and i saw some nice fastbreaks too. And cpu doesn't overuse superstar freestyle, so i don't think we have to worry about cpu abusing superstar freestyle. yes, we can overuse it ourselves but it's up to us. if you want to have realistic game style then u don't have to use it all the time (Y). i like these vids a lot more than previous vids.

haha !!!

all these haters on THIS board crying about "this game has no defense, waaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaa"

gotta love it when EA shuts the haters up

GET EMMMMMMMMM EA!

this vid showed what i tried to tell you people.

the game is gonna be fine, not a 3 pt shootout/dunkfest like 2003.. its 2005 with all the lame bugs fixed and then the superstar addition added on... IT WILL BE HOTTTTTTT.

see u guys online 9/27

The haters aren't really haters persay, they just assume too much when looking at promotional material and development game demos. They'll find their way back home.

But yeah, the computer played good defense. BUT so far, it does look like a 3 point fest.

wow, thanks for the link.

I've just have time to watch the first 2 movies. It's very good.

The "interception" impressed me a lot.
If you have noticed, the ball physic seems improved a lot.

N. Robinson made a bounce pass but was intercepted by the oponent's BACK!
and you can really see the ball is intercepted and the momentum is realistic. (Y)

the other example is Robinson tried to lob pass to the low post player and got stolen. (Y)

These two Robinson turnovers are really impressive :D

The good:
Alley-oop animations [actually great]
Layup animations
Interior Defense
Shooting to a degree
Defense

The bad
Players dribbling while not doing moves is still unrealistic, they don't cut, and change directions too quickly
Players still move unrealistically, this needs to be revamped, and they need some good mo-cap on this
No sign of real playcalling, coming around screens and curling etc

excuse me but i didn't see any realistic defense in this video. i just saw the cpu stealing very lame passes by the guy playing and then running up the court executing this whatever-offense the nba live AI has gotten us used to. the CPU is also extremenly lame in not taking an open jumper then passing the ball back to a guy that's beeing defended and then score the contested shot...wow that's nice.

players still skate around the court, force field and catching up seems to be there too. the physics just plain suck, everything seems to glide around like a pinball until it bumps on something.

default speed is still too goddamn fast (50 points by the CPU around the 3rd quarter on 4 min quarters... you do the math).

anyway i still hope that with a heavy slider and difficulty tweaking this one could be the best live so far. the problem is that the gameplay improvements might just be too few to actually notice.

their focus on the last games, adding the posibility to do plays that happen ever so seldom (freestyle moves) and exhibition modes (all-star-game), is taking the game every year further away from beeing a real NBA-basketball sim. that's at the very least worrying.

on a more positive note the graphics and animations have been much improved and the courts do look more realistic than before.

Pretty cool video. The one problem seems to be that the players look jittery. Even Billups doesn't look like he's in control.

A zip file comming tomorrow, if I can upload it.

The animations resemble last year's, a lot. The passing is faster - the thing they should've done for last year's patch  but some of the passing animations in certain situations are terrible. Some jump shots and lay ups are looking very good, and some looks awful, especially with the kicking legs, I don't know who would dangle their legs in midair other than Nowitzki. The fastbreak is looking good, but players just seem unaware and clueless on the court. The dribbling animations are pretty bad too, lol. It's pretty much a tweaked version of 2005. Disappointing.

Am I the only one who noticed that Steve Kerr said "Marv" in every single line of commentary?

i would advice you to better keep it so you can dry your fingers off from the freestyle-move button mashing. way to go bro. very strategic.

last off-topic reply. it's getting disrespectful to the topic and other users.

peace out.

What the heck kind of shot was that by marbury in the first vid (of the second page)? Shots like that should not go in.
