For me Live 2000.. I know later Lives have had better graphics/features etc but Live 2000 was the only one that didn't completely piss me off. I loved playing it, and Dynasty mode didn't really get old either.

As I said before, for the time period, Live 2000 was the best, and it carried me through till Live 2003 since 2001 sucked and 2002 didn't exist (on PC).

I actually liked 2001 really much (as opposed to... everyone), but 2000 was even better.
Hmm, I really got in the mood for some 2001 now, gonna see if I still have it around.

With all the adds to Live 05 that guys from NLSC made, i would say 2005 is my favorite!

2000 was great and 2003 came and started the whole series of good games with 04 and 05. I say Live 03.

2003 may have been he most infuential basketball game of this time....it influenced the most intuitive controls seen in any sports game. but that desnt mean the game was any good. the game was arcadey and it just plain sucked as a basketball game. not realistic at all. live 2005 is the product of the influence of live 2003. live 2005 may not be the bbest game but its the most realistic live so far

For me it was between '03 and '04. 2003 started the actual NBA Live...but I remember the day '04 came out and I got it and me and my friend played for hours. He spent the night so we could paly and it was a school night. I was very dissappointed with '05 this year...

05 was great ..if u guys dont like 05 then u must not like sim basketball....2003 was an extremely arcade game....2005 was much more sim...and if u liked 03 or 04 better then 05 then u will be dissapointed with 06. 04 may have been ok but it had problems that still made the game arcadey. the game was very sim in 05 with a few small exceptions.

The only lives I've played were 2001, 2004, and 2005. I've played the 2000 and 2003 live demos, so I can't really pass judgement whether or not 2000 was the best one, although I could play the live 2000 demo for hours. I really liked 2004 though, it was a nice blend of arcade/simulation, and although the pro hop was easily abused, I would sometimes tip the game in my favour when I'm down by 20 in the fourth quarter and I would do some l33t pro hopping and get the win.

I've played Live 2000, 2003, and 2005. I heard too many complaints about 04 and hesitated to get it. For me the one that has dissapointed me the least is 2000. Live 2003 was good too but the way the menu and in-game menu were set-up was a pretty bad turn-off and the same goes to L05, in addition to that we see excessive amount of blocks and steals in the latest version of Live.

For me Live 2000 is still standing tall.

i think the stealing amount in live 05 is perfect and realistic if ur a good player...the blocking is excessive and even thoiugh it does make u look for better shots on offense and forcing you to use the mid range at times its just unrealistic...overall it has the best balance of the latest live games and the closest to realism

Yeah. I agree with Live 2003 & 2005. Those two (I think) are the most realistic.

2000 was the best in my opinion it had everything.. especially awesome gameplay.

2001 was a piece of rushed junk.

2003 ate computers through bad programming.

2004 EA deemed Fast breaks not a part of basketball apparently.

I thought 2003 was the worst out of all of them.

Players stole the ball with their armpits, too many fast breaks, nah, I hated that game.

I didn't like 2003, either. It was all fastbreaks and dunks, it got repetitive, tiring and it was just complete arcadish. (n)

I voted for 2005, though for me 2004 and 2000 are close as well. Excluding the earlier titles which can't really compare across the board, those are the three I've enjoyed most.

i voted for live 05... 6 complaints:

1) too many perimeter blocks
2) too many inside shots/hooks blocks
3) too many dunk/layup blocks (not sure about this cause it forced me to not try and dunk all the time so i don't know if thats something to actually complain about)
4) slow players catching up with faster ones.
5) unrealistic CPU constested shots hot streak if you're leading by double digits.
6) CPU team averaging only 5 freaking assists per game against me. (CPU passing AI).

at first i actually hated it but after toying with the sliders for about 2 or 3 months i got the game to be actually pretty realistic gameplay wise. i still get between 3 and 10 fast breaks a game, fast breaks (or the lack of them) are not an issue for me cause i prefer running a slow half court offense and use the clock to get an open shot as much as i can.

reducing dunk frequency to 5% and long and short range shooting pctg helped a lot. most of my baskets come from open mid-range j's after picks or penetrating layups. i would have voted for 2000 cause i liked it a lot but i find the current game to be a little more fun. pump fake to death does not appeal a lot thinking about it retrospectively.
