Game getting TOO boring

Postby emir45 on Fri Mar 21, 2003 6:01 pm

Do you guys agree that NBA Live 2003 is getting too boring, because after doing all the patching all stuff like that, its is still the same.
Everybody is trying to make the game better, for example me, making a street ball roster, but this won't last forever.

I hope that NBA Live 2004 reviews and screenshots and gameplay will sound better and be better or I will never pick up a Basketball Game.

At first when it came out, it was all tight but now after a while even if the gameplay is good, the game just is not good enough anymore.

If you guys agree, post some of your thoughts here and let everybody else know.
Thanks.

well i have just satrted playing it, but yer, it will, coz the game is just too fast.... u want to make a good play and something cool but u'll just get the ball stollen, its just too fast, if they wee to make it slower, it would have been much better. plus a toone of other things, i dont want to turn this post into a wish list, which im sure it will turn into anyway...

I agree. I try to play the game properly and the scores and stats I recieve are real, but it si not fun anymore. I tryed playing 1 franchise with the lakers, it got boring. The I played one with 76ers, it got boring.

I mean, everyteam is the same. The franchise is not good enough and keeps repeating itself. The injuries and everything else is not realistic.

Well, it's not that i'm trying to get realistic stats, i don't give s crap about that...i just play it properly by playing good defence...calling plays and not going crazy on the fast breaks all the time... :)

Just slow your game pace down a little and think about how your going to score your next point... after a while you kinda loose focus and start playing like you don't care what happens so try to stay focused if you can...:)

thats how i play too. I slow down and make plays instead of fast break which is boring. But sometimes i like the dunk. I wish that NBA Live 2003 and NBA 2K3 could combine their knowleged and make the best game ever. I bet tha every body would buy it and it would be stunning

It's much more difficult to slow down NBA Live 2003 than previous years. Playing 12 minute quarters in NBA Live, the lowest scores I've had are 73-70 (NBA Live 96) and 75-67 (NBA Live 2002). The lowest in NBA Live 2003 was 111-105.

I have come to accept the gameplay of NBA Live 2003 though. I still hope that they slow down the gameplay for Live 2004, though I've grown accustomed to Live 2003. It's certainly hard to go back and play older Lives, because I'm always trying to use Freestyle.

I play a lot like Nick, I downplay the high final scores, call plays, etc. The individual player's points per game averages are not outside reason, the only individual stats higher than normal are blocks, steals and turnovers. Mind you, that was the case in NBA Live 2002 as well.

To enjoy Franchise, you must choose a team that you want to play with. Whether that's your favourite team or a team you think you could turn into a title contender, that's up to you. I suggest not making a flurry of trades - you'll end up with a team that looks good on paper, but one that isn't all that fun to play with a) because it's too good to be challenged and/or b) every game you're basically trying to divide the minutes between the players. Try to avoid building a team of superstars, it isn't as fun as it sounds.

Also, when you overhaul your team, you're probably going to end up with a few players all of whom could be the go to guy, so you're not going to know who the star player is.

I suggest playing a few games without making any trades, changing the starting lineup and giving everyone an opportunity to play. If your team has a weakness, you can then look to strengthen your team with a trade. Don't give up on a player if they have a poor game. Making a trade every 3 games isn't the way to go, and that strategy becomes useless after February if you have the trade deadline enforced.

So try playing with a team as is, or make only a couple of changes. I find that trying to completely overhaul a team in the first year quickly leads to boredom.

i already tryed playing online once and i barly could see 5 frames a second, so thats why i quit taht part.

But listen. Its not about how hard the game is or challanging, its about the game being interesting. For me, the game good old for some reason even after patching mostly everything, so thats why i am making a Street roster with and 1 and all the other teams.

I never play the game in single player,i always want to play with someone else, and to make it even more challenging, we make bets. that is how the game makes it perfect for gambling, talent vs. talent, and the game is not borrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnggggggg. play on LAN games not online.

the only game i play currently is STREET Hoops. I think that that game is way more challenging and they way the offense and defense runs, u have to be 1000000000% concentrated or u will lose, The concept of NBA Live 2003 got boring, Its not the challange but they realizm and game play. Its not as fun.

That's the thing with live, a fast arcade game won't be as fun for as long as a good sim. When I'm playing franchise and I loose a close game, it's always cause I missed a layup and they made something like a 40 footer. In a sim at least there would be a reason why I lost. :?
