looks good. It looks like they'll be reviewing each new superstar feature every week. (i'm assuming this considering he kept saying "this week, this week", and how at the beginning of the video, they choose the logo (stopper, shooter etc) then talk about that feature)

It's very late July already... The game is going to come out in like two months or so... Have they just not done anything to the dynasty mode and thus are completely silent about it or what???

I think it would be about time to get us some information on the dynasty mode changes etc. I'm getting impatient...

Good to see that they differentiated Shaq and Amare. I guess our complaining sort of works after all? Or did they stop smoking whatever it was that made them think that Shaq was going to do a windmill dunk? Anyhow, I have a little tiny bit of hope now.

I'm a little bit concerned though they are saying the power players are the unstoppable force ...... and i wonder if I double team a power player could he stil be able to dunk on them... very intrigued. D-Wade also said he was a highflyer and he could dunk on anybody.

Great idea to break down the Freestyle Superstar categories into sub-categories, such as physically dominant and athletically gifted power players. Also great news to see that the final product shouldn't be allowing the likes of Shaq to throw down windmills and whatnot.

Big Ben has improved his offensive game, but it ain't pretty... I don't think he should have any "super-star" offensive sets... On defense, both the outside stopper and the inside stopper should be combined for him, but a offensive power player... I think not. Especially since the super-star stuff are linked to the player ratings, or atleast that's what it sounds like.

Detroit should have on the offense Hamilton, Billups and Rasheed on the super-star level... Prince maybe getting there in a few seasons, but not yet and Big Ben never getting there. He's a defensive work horse and I don't think he even cares that much about his offensive game... He ain't the three time defensive player of the year for no reason. The man loves playing defense, the offensive part of his game is just a side dish... Like the salad that comes with the steak, nice but you came for the steak.

Ben Wallace should not be a super-star class scorer with career scoring average of about 8...

The crowds are updated and looking a lot more vivid than before, as well as there are more than the first 5 rows in 3D. Very nice EA
If only you could move more people closer to the sideline it would look a whole lot more realistic; many more media people, a few of those kids that comes out and swipes the court clean (doesn't actually have to do anything, just for looks), some towel boys, a sub or two, stuff like that will definitely help the atmosphere in the arena and create a much more realistic game.

First time I actually feel better after reading about Freestyle Superstar.

I really hope the moves aren't as unstoppable as they are hyped.

But one thing I noticed from all the videos I have seen, that when players are driving in, the seem to go through the defensive players. I am too sleepy right now and can't explain properly what I mean, but when offensive players are rushing, they don't get stopped or even affected by defense at all. They just finish the move as if defense didn't exist.

I like what is in this article, and the additions are nice, but if you look at what was released for NBA 2K6, that's the stuff I want to start hearing about, not just superstar freestyle.

NBA 2K6's update:

That's right, completely rewritten the code. The goal is to make a more realistic game of basketball where Bruce Bowen spots up behind the arc, Shaq plays down low and calls for the ball, and Rip Hamilton (complete with mask) pump fakes before leaning in for his mid-range jumper. They're attempting to capture the tendencies of the star players on the court so that the polygonal players actually gravitate to their strengths.

This also means that star players will have their own signature moves. Take Shaq in the post and you'll see him throw up the hook, power his way in for the two-handed slam and hang, or the one-handed dunk with the lean. Duncan will turnaround and fire his mid-range jumper, Wade has his step-back juke (Raja Bell remembers it well), and when Tayshaun Prince goes up for the dunk, he does it with the effortless style he always plays with

This has been the concentration of most of the Live updates, but it's only a minimal part of this one.

Rebounding is all about positioning, and finally, it seems like players are reacting to shots and actually getting in the correct positions to snag the boards. In previous versions of the game, it was like the players on the court were reacting to everything after it already happened. In NBA 2K6, the producers promise a more dynamic, more fluid game where the players are anticipating the action rather than adjusting after the fact.

Through the draft, just like real life, you will find second-round sleepers like Gilbert Arenas and first-round busts like Todd Fuller. Before the draft, you'll even have seven days of workouts where you can bring in any prospects and test their skills in a game of one-on-one (against someone on your team or even a free agent you want to workout at the same time), two-on-two, all the way up to five-on-five where you can test the game of 10 prospects all on the floor at once. You can schedule one workout per day, and the ratings of each prospect will change after their workouts as you will find out more information about them through gameplay. You will also be given an NBA comparison for every player to know whether you are looking at the next Vince Carter or the next Anthony Carter.

NBA Live started this playing 1 on 1 thing for the draft, they should expand it, and tell us about it. Don't get beat in your own game like that. When they're adding a 5 v 5 game for rookies, that's like having the Chicago Draft camp right there. You can run 2 vs 2, have a PG and C, and see how these guys can work in a mini team system, run pick and roll's etc. The NBA comparison idea is also very nice.

....you will have to strike a balance between what the owner wants and your attempts to win the title. Some owners are like the Mark Cuban-type, a fan who wants to win at any cost and puts the pressure on his GM to put together a squad to win it all. Other owners are more the business-type, looking to acquire players who will sell jerseys while at the same time adding to the win column.

Now, right now it's mostly all talk in terms of gameplay, till we see actual gameplay videos, but I'd like EA to tell us more of a variety of stuff as opposed to just concentrating on freestyle superstar. I mean where not little kids here, we need some depth in information.
