How to change the sequence of player appearing in the menu

Postby k8 on Tue Dec 17, 2002 12:51 am

Is there any way that i can do to change the sequence or the players appearing in the main menu. Is it possible to add players not included there?

Change players at start

I did this, you need to find out the Player ID numbers of the players appearing and then switch them with players that you want. You'll need to edit the players.dbf and career.dbf PLAYER ID# field in your saves directory you want to change.

The first player is Jason Kidd, see what his ID# is. Change it to the ID# of the player you want to replace him and then change the ID# of the new player to Kidd's old ID#. Change it in players.dbf and career.dbf.

Thanks man. I already changed mine. I just change the players dbf and it work. I don't think changing career.dbf is necessary.

Thanks a Shitload!!! I been wondering why i get a blank person and just a ball on the ground after Iverson...Its because Jordan retired on mine...Hahahahaha

Now I can put Lebron James In his spot!...But first I Must ask..Does fucking with this player ID effect anything else?

found the problem! I change the player id of rip with kidd and when i play the pistons vs. nets. the commentator call rip -kidd and kidd -rip. Isn't there another way change the sequence without messing with the player id's. maybe there's a list of the players appearing that can be change.

just change the label for saying the name if this is the problem...

since you change the id chage also the value that says their name...

i'll try this one if i have a dbf editor.

this is a great idea

David @ nbalive.org wrote:You can... but it is dodgy... the ONLY way to do it is to give the players you want on the menu screen the PLAYERID of the players that are on that screen... so for example the Jason Kidd is PLAYERID -> 177 so if you give hime a different PLAYERID and make another player 177 then that player will be on the menu... but ofcourse the PLAYERID value is also used for stats etc.. so that player will get all Jason Kidd's career stats... so the only way is to edit the players.dbf and change around the PLAYERID values... but it is not really worth it...

Well, instead of messing with the player id's, how about finding and editing the file or what-not that controls the player appearances? Anyone knows what/where it is?

his id number is what links them to there stats
