New to the forum... Help creating my own Cyberface?

Postby Jace1 on Wed Mar 05, 2003 9:03 am

Sup peoples!
I'm a n00bie, so any help is greatly appreciated.
I was looking at a few of the post's throughout the board, and
found that y'all have some skills when it comes to face / shoe / jersey
making for Live 2k3.
I wanna get my face in the mix, but I have no idea how to modify my
created player, or how to even access it outside of the game.
Any help is greatly appreciated... Even if it's just the software
recomendations, or a few pointers. I'll eat it up!
Thanks again in advance!

Ok... I followed the tutorial to edit & create my own .bmp images:
I used the Mark Madsen .viv (Cause we have the same skin tone).
And I created the 5 .bmp images I need for the cyberface...
Well, the tutorial only tells you how to edit & change the existing players
faces... not a player that I've created myself. So how do I designate these
.bmp images that I've created with my face :) to point to my player:
JaBrown (Jason Brown) ?

Any helpers out there?

Still no luck...
Here's where I'm stuck:

I've created my own .bmp files from the Mark Madsen .bmp's that I
extracted from mamadse.fsh file.
The tutorial states I need to then drag the index.fsh into the fshtool, to
create the final .fsh file, right?
Well, when I do so... it creates a mamadse.fsh file, and not a jabrown.fsh
file.
I have the artwork ready to go, but have no clue how to get it back into
format for the game to recognize, and place into my created player.

I'm hella confused, but full'a patience. So please, help a guy out :)

Wish I could help you out more, but I'm not all that knowledgable when it comes to cyberface patches...hopefully one of the experienced cyberface patchmakers can give you some pointers.

Well first thing you have to do is rename the mamadse.fsh to jabrown.fsh. Just right-click and rename. Then using a dbf editor, go to your saves folder, then to the players and look for your created player. Then go to the column playerpkg and replace whatever is in there to jabrown. Then go to the iscreated column and put in there false.

if you do everything in there right, then this is how you'll look in the game.

Hope that helps.

I figured it was something simple, like renaming the file...
But I wasn't sure if renaming messed something up.
I'll give it a whirl... thanks for the help my man.
*You too Andrew!

Ah, I found out why.
The face template i used, had the eyes placed slightly higher than mine.
So I re-positioned the eyes on my bmp's that I made, and it turned out fine.

Thanks peeps :)

Nice work! :)

Not bad for a beginner...in fact...it's good!

You know what you should do... Try selecting around the pinkish areas...(mouth and nose area) and change the colour to be more like the cheeks by making the hue about 3/4 higher...maybe. mess around with it and see if you can get it to be the same colour as the cheeks.

Fame Seeker? Haha, your imagination is way beyond your knowledge. If I do seek, I should have released all the patches I've done for my own game. Praises are good. But I don't take it too much. Besides, I have much work to do in my school and preparing and practicing for our team in the upcoming league. Just helping others. Not what your freak mind do think.
