can i view your patches without Live for PC?

Postby bulls96 on Wed Mar 05, 2003 10:30 am

quick question guys.

is there anyway i can view the data on the patches you guys make without having to buy Live for PC?

i'm particularly interested in looking at the ratings for the edited players and the patches involving the champ teams.

hope you can help. thanks.

Yes, you can view the dbf files using the Live Toolkit, without having the PC version of the game.

yes my friend. you can do that. just download your desired patch. then download the db commander or the nbatoolkit and the eagraph. use the db commander/nbatoolkit to view ratings/ stats and use the eagraph to view shoe, jersey, court, and face patches.

I would recommend the Toolkit over DB Commander, as viewing the DBF file that way can be a little time consuming (eg player ratings are listed in their raw format of 0=50 and so on). It's also easier to find players, view lineups etc with the Toolkit.

yup agreed.

by the way andrew, im using the megamodifier of the nba like toolkit (ms access version). but its kinda weird when i indicate less by 10 on fg, actually its not 10. i think its about 5 or 4. im not sure. its not accurate.

is it correct or what? pls advise. thx.

Yeah, when you subtract 10 from the ratings, it's not subtracting it from the in-game rating, it's subtracting it from the DBF rating, which would be subtracting 5 from the in-game rating. Hopefully that makes sense.

andrew thanks for the tip. it works.

i'm having trouble browsing at the players. some buttons when i click are looking for a directory where data is supposed to be (i guess its a directory i would have had if i had the PC game)

like now,i'm looking at Michael Jordan and all the data bout him. how can i change from one player to the next.cant find a scroll anywhere.

is there any tutorials as to how to use the tool kit without the game?

Which Toolkit are you using? NBA Live 2003 or NBA Live 2001? The NBA Live 2001 Toolkit can read the Live 2003 files, including all the necessary fields for console roster editing.
