u'd pronounce it "pfissner" if the name 100% german

if u say Fitzner it would be spelled "Feitzner"

but i guess it's a german name which should sound english and that's why u say fitzner

nah, I think it's definately spelt pfisner or something....might be slightly different but it is not feitzner....is German name....could have 2 s's in it, not sure....but in English it's pronounced Fitz-ner, not Fy-sner as it is spelt....either way, it's just a name....if we're talking about Germany I'd much prefer if the topic at hand was steins :D

MARCH 2007 SUMMARY

Charlotte had their worst month of the season as every team they faced were quality opponents. To come out of the month going 2-5 is very disappointing. The team seems to be stumbling into the playoffs as they are currently 25-26 and if they got their act in gear, the playoffs are far from a certainty. The hardest loss of the month came on its last day against the Conference rival Indiana Pacers, who used a win over the 'Cats to leapfrog them in the standings. Every win is vital at this point in the season and can mean the difference between a No. 5 and No. 9 or No. 10 finish out East. The aura of the All-Star Weekend is a distant memory by now and it's now time for the Bobcats to step up and grab the franchise's 1st ever playoff appearance. It looks to be an exciting April as the playoff race continues.

NLSC PLAYER UPDATE (MAR '07)

This is a monthly section that will highlight different NLSC Players each month. Whilst he struggled to find his feet early on, the Milwaukee Bucks' rookie swingman Russel Santos is really starting to make an impact off the bench for the Bucks.

SG- Russel Santos (Micchy_boy), 6'5", 207lbs (17th pick in the 2006 by the Milwaukee Bucks)

Image
Micchy_boy is fearless going to the hoop as he makes a tough circus shot against G.A. and the Bobcats

Russel Santos was a projected mid-to-late lottery pick coming out of the Phillipines. However, something strange happened. Rumours were started about Santos' attitude and he fell down to the No. 17 pick where he was quickly snapped up by the Bucks. For the 1st half of his rookie season, Santos had great trouble finding his feet in the big time as he was used sparingly and his lack of production showed this. However, after the All-Star break, Santos made a quick round-trip back to his home country to try and rediscover his game. Rediscover his game, Santos has as he has had some strong outings off the bench and has finally solidified himself as a future star in the making. Santos uses craftiness at both ends of the court to his advantage as he backs up at the SG and SF spots. Look for Santos to continue and build on his strong play this off-season and come back and compete for a starting spot with Des Mason. One thing is for sure, this kid should never have been passed up by so many teams.

Russel Santos' 2006/07 Stats:
4.2ppg, 1.0rpg, 1.2apg, 40.3% FG, 26.8% 3Pt

I seem to be past the worst of the recovery stage so I gathered enough ki to go and update all the player details for the 2007 class of draftees....now all I have to do is get onto the ratings I guess

without further ado, here is the 1st instalment of this season's scouting reports....

SCOUTING REPORT #1

We start off this season's scouting in Africa, which is a region that provided college and NBA superstars such as Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo.

AFRICA

Image

Unfortunately, this season there is not one prospect who is even in the same stratosphere as Olajuwon or Mutombo, or Badiane for that matter. I don't expect any of the African projects to even be selected in the late 2nd Round. Therefore, I will not waste anymore time discussing this region.

We now move to the Asia-Pacific region, which has in recent years provided many quality NBA talents such as Yao, Mark Moore, Russel "Micchy_boy" Santos and Will Sit to name a few. Let's see if there are any more NBA-pedigree players stashed away in this improving region.

ASIA-PACIFIC

Image

Once again for our scouts, another region has come up blank. The only draftable prospect appears to be Tang Zhengdong, who should be drafted somewhere in the mid-to-late 2nd Round. Zhengdong is a 7'1" project who will likely not even leave Asian shores as an NBA career is probably unlikely for this Asian giant.

The final stop before heading stateside is to check in on Europe's finest talent, and see who will be making the jump this year. The next Dirk or the next Skita?!? We'll have to wait and see on that one as the Euro Trip only leaves us with more questions than answers.

EUROPE

The tide has changed in Europe with many young prospects being shunned by the NBA after the failure of prospects like Skita and Darko. In conjunction with the age limit imposed by Commissioner David Stern, this has meant that top Euro prospects such as Nemanja Aleksandrov, Marko Tomas, Ersan Ilyasova, Sergio Rodriguez, Uros Tripkovic, Yaroslav Korolev, Damjan Rudez, Semih Erden and Oleksiy Pecherov to either not be eligible or delay their early entries into the NBA Draft. There are about 4 or 5 Euros that are expected to be taken in the 1st Round this year. They include Italian Stallion Andrea Bargnani, German sensation Flo "pHLo" Ruf and Croatian guard Roko-Leni Ukic who are all locks to be taken in the 1st 20 picks in the draft.

ANDREA BARGNANI

Image

Bargnani was probably a lock for lottery pick if I had stayed in the 2006 NBA Draft, but the extra year's seasoning in Europe as paid off as he has sky-rocketed up the draft board, and is considered by many as the 2nd best prospect in the draft behind Chris Paul, with a possibility that he could get taken with the No. 1 pick in the draft. Andrea Bargnani is a 7-foot combo forward who has been compared to Mavs' star Dirk Nowitzki. His rare combination of height, co-ordination, athleticism, shooting touch and perimeter skills are always in demand. Bargnani can also take his defender off the dribble or down low in the post. One of Bargnani's strongest traits is that he is a hard worker and very coachable, and that really appeals to a lot of teams around the league. Bargnani is a lock top 5 pick and I can't see him falling below the 3rd pick overall.

NBA Comparison - Somewhere between Dirk Nowitzki and Skita, but closer to Dirk

Image
Of no, another 7-footer who prefers to hoist long jumpers than bang down low. Let's just hope he's closer to Dirk than Skita

FLO RUF (pHLo)

Image

He's only 19 and he's from Germany. Normally you'd be expecting me to announced the next German soccer prodigy to the world. But it is a young PG name Flo Ruf that has German bball fans at their most excited since a young forward named Dirk Nowitzki took the world by the storm at the Hoops Summit. Flo's game really reminds me of Tony Parker, when he entered the league. A young, super-quick PG who is streets ahead of others in his age group as far as maturity of his game. Ruf is a pass-first player who has really benefited from playing in Europe's finest professional leagues for the last few years. I project that Ruf will be taken in the late lottery to mid-1st Round range. Normally he'd go a bit higher, but with the strength of this year's PG class, he could fall a little.

NBA Comparison - Tony Parker

Image
This fresh-faced German kid will see if he can make a Tony Parker-like impact in his rookie year

I'll probably get onto the other 4 regions tomorrow

enjoy

6' 1" and 171 lbs? Flo really needs to buff up if he's gonna make it past the rookie wall... Send him over to Phoenix for some intense weight training sessions in Sheed's gym... That'll do it... (Y)

if that was the case he'd probably end up out of shape come training camp....can't help the munchies after all....

that's why he should avoid Charlotte too....it's best to keep the young lad away from the pubs in North Carolina....which makes me think, I want to go to Oktoberfest :D :chug:

yep, iLLuzionz you are in....as are you ceekay....you'll be covered in scouting reports in the next day or two....

I'm spacing out the prospects....and since he's from China, he's unlikely to be in the NBA Draft before he is 22 (that's usually what happens with Chinese prospects)....therefore Yi Jianlian will be one of the top prospects in the 2009 or 2010 draft....who's Zhu Fangdu? never heard of him....

next year's class will probably include the likes of Rudy Gay, Nemanja Aleksandrov, Daniel Gibson, Randolph Morris, Sergio Rodriguez, Martell Webster, Ersan Ilyasova, CJ Miles, Mota Ellis, Louis Williams and more so it's a pretty decent draft class....there ratings will be higher than that would be if they were in 2005 or 2006 class as they have had an extra 2 years seasoning in college and Europe, so they are ready to be superstars/impact players

cheers....hopefully you end up in a good situation and get a chance to show that speed and quickness....

System of a Down would have great to see....unfortunately I missed them at Big Day Out this year as tickets were sold out over a month before the event  the best concert I've been to is still Tool (gotta luv Sober, one of greatest rock songs of our times) :headbang:

aside from the scouting report or two that I'll be putting up today, I'll try and get some game recaps from April up as the playoff race heats up....
