Custom Teams

What about making some custom teams in your roster?

E.g.; an all All-NBA Rookie Team and an All-NBA Sophomore Team ?
Or a Dunk Team and a 3-pt. Team? That would definately make your roster better!

Not if you use an NBA's team art.

It's possible with NBA Live 2003, but you are unfortunately limited to using existing NBA team art. Additionally, you cannot set a team to use the individual team jerseys (as they do in the Rookie Challenge, and in All-Star games from 1997 to 2002).

I have considered adding these teams to the current roster, but have decided against it. Instead...

I'm also working on an All-Time Roster (in previous years, we called them Legends rosters). The roster will feature the most significant players in each team's history (basically each team's all-time greatest roster, spanning all of NBA history), two teams of all-time Eastern/Western All-Stars, AND...extra teams, like all-dunkers, all-three point shooting etc teams.

So I won't be adding them with the current rosters, but they will be added with the All-Time roster patch. That will take a little more time to come out, but updated rosters are generally what people want, so the actual updated rosters are a higher priority.

Ok, i fully understand you. And no, it's not possible for a custom team to have individual player jerseys. But, you can still give them the All-Star Teams art (x1 or x2).

no its possiable to have your own custom team with custom art you have to create these files easy way to do this extract from viv use EAGE modify rename and then insert back to viv or put in respective folder

theses are the files you HAVE to make and then insert them in the viv file

and you can just make them and put them in there folders

NBA2KSTUFF made a Dream Team patch that adds 4 dream teams to your existing rosters using all there own art without overwriting anything you can get from his page or here it's 2.7 meg

but if you wanna add the rookies sophmore teams and for them to use there own jerseys overwrite the east and west team players change the team field to 30 and 31 and leave the original team to there team in the players.dbf and in the team.dbf change east and west allstars to sophmore rookie allstars and and then to get your east west allstars back copy the the stuff you just edited in the dbf file and change the ID numbers and team numbers so copy the allstar teams in the teams.dbf and change the ID and team numbers to match that of the allstars that you are gonna add to the players.DBF open the teamgear.dbf copy allstars change id number to match team and players, open choaches copy allstars and change teams and id number I think thats it but I may be wrong Andrew if you want I can send you one of my save folders to show you! just email me.

I have the sophmore rookie teams with east and west allstars on the same roster where the rookie and sophmore teams where there own team jerseys and east and west where the jerseys they wore in the allstar game if you want them I will send them to you?

well if you don't wanna create a rookie sophmore team in the current rosters create the decade allstars like in other lives more 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 teams and include Dennis Rodman, Charles Barkley, and Kareem Abdul-jabbar in those teams and free agents, along with LeBron James and others in the free agents and create a future allstar team using the 90 art with collage/high school players like LeBron James

I will add more legends to the current roster patch, but at present, I'm more concerned with concentrating on the actual roster update than the extras. I'll add more extras to the current rosters in the offseason, or possibly come playoff time (when there are no players on 10 day contracts, and fewer lineup changes).

If you could send me the DBF where you have both the Rookies/Sophomores and the East/West All-Stars wearing their own jerseys, it would be much appreciated. Even if I do not use this for the current roster update, I would be able to use it in the All-Time Rosters Patch.

Keep focusing on keeping the rosters updated instead of the extras.

That's right... Read the posts, Andrew... hehehe......
Because, only 2 teams can wear individual jerseys.The teams with the ID's 30 and 31.

I thought it was a little strange for all four teams to wear the individual team jerseys. My apologies, I did not read that paragraph correctly.

I would prefer not to add the Rookies/Sophomores, as the All-Stars will only wear the 2003 All-Star jerseys if that patch has been installed. That patch is not distributed with the rosters, so I'm afraid those teams will have to be left out of the current roster update.
