Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

announcers

Hey everyone,

I think the announcers and commentators should be able to announce your real name instead of the number. That is the only feature which is missing for created players, after all we have cyberfaces, playerp portraits and all that.

I agree but it's a bit hard to make. they had one in NHL series where you could choose from a list and the one when they included the existing surnames (johnson, carter)

is that what a text-to-speech engine is, when you write something and the announcers can say the name that you write

Exactly. Can't the developers use such a tool for the announcers and commentators to anounce your name. That's the only thing missing for created players.

JAWS (internet for blind people) or similar can be the solution...

it could sound pretty weird... but if it's done properly, why not. but I think it's too big of a idea for them to develop, you know EA, theyre lazy

It would be a great solution, but it might not be feasible, especially with non-Anglo-Saxon names.

Well, most of the names of the created players are made from the pool of already existing playes in the game, and thus also spoken names.

So its a question of creating the play-by-play name voices for players in a sorted manner so that they can be used also for created players.

E.g. Chris Iverson - Chris (from e.g. webber) and Iverson (well, duh)

Would give a vast array of possible and spoken names, and IMHO, can't be THAT hard.

Cheers, Flix

Agreed, that's a more feasible option than text-to-speech at this juncture.

they had that in an old football game called viva football or something like that. When you make a player they take he names from players already in the league to pronounce it. They should have theis in live 06.

In WE7 (Winning Eleven 7 International) you could pick one of the names or pseudonyms , what were listed, when you created a player. I think atleast the popular American names should be listed
