Realistic stats and team rankings...please help !

Postby JP_Frost on Sun Feb 23, 2003 7:04 am

I know alot of you guys out there play with roster patches. It definately makes the exhibition games alot better, but whenever playing a full season, the individual stats and standings are incorrect. For example, everytime I play a season, Tim duncan gets MVP honors averaging over 30 points. I know he's good, but not like that. As far as standings go, most teams that NEED to be in the playoffs are, but the ranking is wrong. For example, Dallas ending up 8th and Denver ending up 1st.

I've tried to alter these annoying "bugs" with DBF Editor...no luck so far ( I tried changing the DSTATS, but that didn't work, why ??? ). Maybe I'm doing something wrong and if so, hopefully someone will tell me the correct way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Most updated roster patches reflect real lineups and injuries, hence teams do not always have their best (in terms of NBA Live ratings) lineups represented in the rosters. This affects team rankings, which also affects season performance to a certain extent. It isn't good practice to try and edit players so that a team's ranking is correct, as:

  • The rankings will change when transactions are made/lineups change
  • The player ratings will be unrealistic
