Fowles was the 76ers' lottery pick in '05....he's got a slightly higher rating than you and he has actually been playing pretty well....that game you saw was probably an off-night but he's been mostly good and the 76ers have been winning more as well than in the last 2 seasons....there's a chance you'll supplant him for the starting spot next season....should be interesting....

dweaver wrote:I'm still smoking the fumes from Detroit.... it's a calling, I tell you...

yeah, I can just imagine that I get you to Detroit, you get in with 'Sheed's crowd and sit your career on the bench behind Darko

John WB wrote:4 games above .500. Not bad.

the last couple of seasons I would have taken 4 games under .500

jxuusa wrote:I’m still really surprised that coco is still stuck on the bench. I’d really expect his to get up there and dominate. Oh well. Maybe the guys in front of us will have “an unfortunate accident” and we’d all get promoted

watch your back Ray Allen
as for cocobee, yeah, he was No. 7 pick and has really struggled in Portland....at the moment it is a bad situation for him....I'm envisioning him coming into his own next season....hopefully for his sake....and besides, this is probably the 1st dynasty that cocobee is in that he is struggling in

SbHzMaFiA wrote:Dumars had a big game against the Bulls. I luv it

yeah, he really struggled at the start of the season but I never really lost faith in Guy and he's had some very good games of late and helped me win some ball games....

SbHzMaFiA wrote:Nice trades for Simmons and Jaric. You are looking real good for the 06' season and hopefully you can keep the winning up going 6-3 in December.

match_66 wrote:Yeah the trades really payed off.

yeah, at the moment I couldn't have envisioned the outcome any better than it is right now....I'm getting immediate dividends from the deal, unlike the Arenas deal last season when he took a whole year (and a dodgey toe  ) to get him playing to his potential....

yep, I'm looking good right now for the '07 playoffs.... :D but a lot can happen, let's hope I can keep the ball rolling

BOBCATS' TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS BEGIN

Here goes a 4 game recap to begin the 2007 calendar year. Due to dweaver's fraps suggestion I will post a few more links for pics but only take them when I can be bothered, so some games might have many and some might not.

Jan 2, 2007 - Charlotte 81 @ Cleveland 83 [SIMMED GAME]

This was a heart-breaking sim loss. As I watched the outcome I thought the match was mine only to see the Cavs take this one. The only noteworthy performances for Charlotte were from GA and Simmons. The rest sucked. Team drops to 14-11 with this loss.

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Simmons 2pts, Van Exel 1pt

Jan 4, 2007 - Charlotte 104 vs Philadelphia 82 [HUMAN GAME]

I absolutely destroyed the Sixers in this one to move to 15-11. A balanced team effort was led by 'Meka. NLSC rookie Moore was held to 1 point in 5 minutes. With the way Iverson was shooting (6/28) maybe they should have used him a bit more.

Image
Hoping to show the world the game that earnt him his high draft pick, match_66 never got the shot. At least the crowd got a good show as 'Meka started off a rendition of YMCA

Other pics:
Moore gets caught napping against GA
GA is at it again as he hits the tough shot and one
The Answer learns not to underestimate the X-Factor
Walton out-hustles 3 Sixers for the offensive board and bucket
I guess what they say is true, that looks can kill. Obviously Dalembert's do as "That Guy" and "The X" don't want to see his ugly mug

BPMM Points: Okafor 3pts, Arenas 2pts, Nene 1pt

Jan 6, 2007 - Charlotte 88 @ Memphis 110 [INTERVENTION GAME]

A 3rd quarter charge by the Grizzlies put this game beyond doubt before I had the chance to intervene. James Posey was awesome in this game for the Grizzlies as his big night made the difference in this one. The team drops to 15-12 with this disappointing loss. Maybe I shouldn't have pulled out a retro night as the old jerseys didn't have the desired effect.

Image

Guy Dumars sent courtside fan SbHzMaFiA a present, which he later signed and gave to him after the game. SbHzMaFia's team not only got the impressive win, but he had a signed souvenir to walk away with

Other pics:
Rookie Wayne Simien's circus shot (and one) summed up this game for the 'Cats as everything fell the Grizzlies way on this night.

BPMM Points: Dumars 3pts, Jaric 2pts, Arenas 1pt

Jan 7, 2007 - Charlotte 90 vs Portland 100 [SIMMED GAME]

Charlotte dropped this simmed game as a lacklustre 4th quarter once again let them down. This is the team's 3rd lost in the last 4 games as they now sit pat with a 15-13 record, holding onto 6th place in the Eastern Conference. Not much else to report on this game.

BPMM Points: Simmons 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Nene 1pt

as you can see, the simming really hurt me in the games I lost....hopefully this doesn't become a trend :(

as always, enjoy

Hmmm, I can't seem to open your pic links, other than the boxscores. Have you uploaded to them to photobucket or somewhere else?

Also your posted pictures do not show... Must be something wrong with your account or your tags...

Anyway, tough slide you're in there. Simmed games are a pain , I know that too well from my NY dynasty...

I probably was the first one here that said Luke is better fitted as a PF. Nobody notices him at 6' 8" , then BOOM, he gets that offensive board... :D

You beat the crap out of the Sixers in your human game, but in the other ones that simmed and intervene, you loss. Maybe should start playing more human games now

Okafor had some bad shooting nights and Dumars only scored 1-point in one of the games. Hope to see you get a few more wins in your next update.

not many wins in the next update, but after that I start to get back on track....I've got a feeling I'm going to stay in the 5-8 range for the rest of the season in the Eastern Conference

Maybe should start playing more human games now

nah, I'll stick to my current format....keeps it more realistic and moves the 58 game season along a lot quicker than is the case with playing all the games....

EDIT: Cheers everyone for the 10,000 views  :o  :chug:

yep, it should be an interesting race, but I think it's destiny for this team to make the playoffs....I don't think I'll be able to break the top 4, but should be good enough for one of the lower spots....let's see how it shapes up....

NOT LUVIN' THE SIMMING

Here goes the next 3 game recap for January 2007.

Jan 11, 2007 - Charlotte 97 vs Golden State 94 [HUMAN GAME]

This game can be summed up in 2 words - Emeka Okafor. Okafor tied a franchise record with 41 points, and added a superb 24 rebounds (7 offensive) and 5 blocks. Okafor absolutely dominated inside and scored 18 of the Bobcats' 26 points in the final quarter to secure a huge home victory against the struggling Warriors. With the way the Warriors played, I really am surprised that they are not winning more games. The team moved to 16-13 with this win.

Image
Meka was a force on both ends of the court meaning no easy basket for J-Rich

Other pics:
Okafor scores 2 of his 41 on this dunk
The Warriors were willing to do anything to stop Okafor, even using their legs, like rookie Martynas Andriuskevicius did
Pietrus was impressive in limited minutes which makes you wonder why the Warriors didn't play him more
I thought former Dukie Cothran Tyson ('05 draftee) was a bust but his play proved otherwise

BPMM Points: Okafor 3pts, Simmons 2pts, Arenas 1pt

Unfortunately the game did have its casualties as Bobby Simmons went down with a foot injury.

Image
Not a good sign for the 'Cats as newly acquired swingman Simmons goes down with injury

The verdict wasn't too good as Simmons would miss at least the next 11 days of action.

Image
Image

However, Simmons wasn't the only one to bite the injury bug as Dwayne Wade and Ben Gordon will also spend time on the IR. Even an NLSC workhorse is being affected by the grind of the NBA season.

Image

Jan 13, 2007 - Charlotte 89 @ Toronto 94 [INTERVENTION GAME]

Intervening down by 7 points, this was always going to be a challenge. The team was able to get it back to a few in the last minute or two but the Raptors pulled it out to drop the Bobcats to 16-14.

Image
GA hit a couple of 3's to get the game close, but it wasn't enough in the end for the 'Cats

BPMM Points: Okafor 3pts, Walton 2pts, Jaric 1pt

Jan 20, 2007 - Charlotte 81 @ Orlando 86 [SIMMED GAME]

The Bobcats dropped another game as they fell to 16-15, only 1 game above .500. Arenas couldn't do it all for Charlotte as the big men really let them down in this one.

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Walton 2pts, Jaric 1pt

I also updated the BPMM Leaderboard and the Record Book....

enjoy

Okafor killed Golden State with that big-time game.

 Dweaver has a sore neck lol

You went 1-2 in this update and I don't know if you went down anymore in the standings, but I'm guessing you did.

yeah, I think I dropped from 5th to 6th or 6th to 7th out East....still have about 1 and a half to 2 games ahead of the 2 teams behind me....but not all is dark in Bobcat land as I think I'm starting to turn it around as will hopefully be shown in the next update....and besides, Bobby Simmons is back from injury so that should help....

Hey, this is not funny... I think X fiddled with my injury rating... I could play with a dislocated neck, much less a sore one
