SAN ANTONIO SPURS ATOP OF THE WORLD....AGAIN!!!!!
At home in game Game 1 (wtf?!? Spurs have better record!!!) the Pistons were able to outlast the Spurs to take a 1-0 lead. The series shifted back to San Antonio, where the Spurs switched it to another level, as they totally dominated the Pistons on both ends of the court to tie the series up at 1-1. Heading back to Detroit, the Pistons really needed to win this game to keep control of the series. Unfortunately for Pistons' fans, Detroit came out flat and were blown off their homecourt. The series stood at 2-1 in favour of the Spurs, with San Antonio having the chance to close the series on their home court. Not willing to let a golden opportunity like this slip away, the Spurs won a tight Game 4 as it delivered down the stretch to win the series, and their 3rd NBA title in the last decade, 3-1.
Congratulations, to the 2005/06 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs used virtually the same lineup that failed last season, but once again the championship was won on the Tim Duncan's heavy back. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Tim Duncan was named 2006 NBA Finals MVP. That is Duncan's 3rd Finals MVP in the past decade.

END OF 2005/06 SEASON

Well viewers, it was another trying season for the Bobcats, but the team seems to be gelling together and the future seems brighter than it did at All-Star break....this season introduced one NLSC player (The X) who performed above my expectations....there is 10 NLSC players featured in the 2006 Draft, along with top college and Euro prospects....plus an NLSC player as a free agent and a couple veterans of Europe moving to the NBA....this should make it a bit more interesting for all involved....already have 2 or 3 NLSC players in the 2007 Draft....if you want in, e-mail me your cyberface and profile.... as always, I try to gradually improve this dynasty, but also try to keep things fresh as I try to use my own unique spin on things....there are so many great dynasties out there (I won't name them, you know who you are) that I hope I've contributed in some small way....I'll continue this dynasty and updating the thread as long as time permits....as always, comments and suggestions are welcome....
after I complete rookie ratings, I'll do off-season, which should hopefully be in the next day or so and off-season coverage to come during the week....

I would be disappointed if I landed someone like Matt Fish in the off-season....he's the only big fish I know of to play in the NBA and he wasn't much to speak of

i still get it right.... my original pick was Pistons but tried to put my money on Spurs since both of you dont want to go for Spurs and i'm still correct

here's a advice try to draft or sign players that will help you during games you simulates... try getting a very good back-up for your star players so in your case get a good C or PF.

hmmm....so perhaps Tiago Splitter could be the goer....or even Chris Taft, although I don't know if I could stomach him....might still be Gerald Green....I'll see how workouts go....

when i read yours and Sit prediction, i decided to go the other way around....
i still say pick Green then sign a decent or even above-average free-agent that plays Center or PF. that will give you enough points from the bench when simulating giving you more chance to win during simulating and interving games.

Yes it is. I used to write fiction 'novels' as a part time occupation back at my uni years and used 'Dreamweaver' as my alias... hence my name on this forum...

those opinions might be valid for you....as for me....he's a SF who can slide to PF against smaller lineups and possibly SG against bigger lineups....although with Korver, Walton never plays SG, and I don't want to eat into Watson's minutes

2006 OFF-SEASON COVERAGE
I completed the off-season late last night (damn EA, you must add a save feature for NBA Live 2006
) and once again, things didn't always go to plan for the unlucky Bobcats. The off-season involved some draft disappointment, some solid free agency signings but are they enough to lift the team to its 1st post-season appearance in the franchise's young history?!?
I will start off-season coverage with retirees and draft lottery. Workouts will probably be up tomorrow and the draft a day later, and the rest of the free agency period by end of the week. In the meantime I will start playing games so the November recap shouldn't be too far behind the off-season coverage. pretty enthralling off-season.
RETIREES
Lets take a look at the talented veterans who have given their sweat, blood and tears to the game of basketball over the last couple of decades. Each of them has callen it a day as the curtain is lowered on some illustrious careers.
Whilst not as deep as last year's class of retirees, this year's group brings together a diverse array of players. The main name that sticks out is Alonzo Mourning, who was drafted directly after Shaq in the 1992 draft. Zo went on to become a superb bigman who had his legacy cut short by a tragic kidney disorder that essentially ended his career whilst he was in his prime. Zo did try to make comebacks and eventually got 2 solid seasons out for the Nets, but he was never the same. It's sad to see him go, but we all knew it was coming.
Injuries took care of talented forward Tom Gugliotta's career. He was a nice player in the 1st half of his career but after serious injuries he was never the same. Derrick Coleman never lived up to his billing as his attitude, weight problems and injuries stopped him from being the superstar that he could have been. Vlade Divac was one of the best passing big men of his time. He may leave the NBA without a championship but he did help revitalise the Kings in the late 90s to the success they see today. Former teammate Doug Christie, like Divac, played most of his career in LA and Sacramento. Christie was a defensive gem and it looks like his wife gets her wish in this retirement. But you'll see Doug again, although it won't be on the court, it will be on his reality show. The final 3 retirees (Barry, Person and Outlaw) were those veterans that everyone team wanted and needed. They carved long careers that were unlikely given their respective skill levels. You'll all be missed guys.

It's on to the time when teams strike it lucky and get a shot at the next Yao, the next Duncan, the next Lebron or the next Iverson. Franchises can be made with the correct combination of lotto balls. Let's cross over to the draft lottery.
DRAFT LOTTERY
Unlike last year when Charlotte had a 1 in 4 chance of winning the lottery, this year their chances are slim to none, with only a 2.9% chance. Whilst they were not expecting the No. 1 draft pick, the Bobcats were hoping to move up into the Top 3 picks. However, they'd be happy to hold their projected 8th pick. See below for the results of this year's draft lottery.
Congratulations to the Chicago Bulls who have jumped up six spots to win the 2006 NBA Draft Lottery, and therefore have earnt the right to select 1st in the upcoming draft.
Biggest Winner: Chicago Bulls who moved from No. 6 right up to No. 1 as they won the lottery. The Bulls now have a shot at Andrew Bogut or Marvin Williams to help improve their young team. Chicago has to be happy with the way Lady Luck has shined on them today.
Biggest Loser: Philadelphia 76ers who fell from the No. 2 pick to the No. 4 pick. The main disappointment with this drop is that before the draft lottery, the 76ers were guaranteed one of the Big 2 (Bogut or Williams). Now they have to choose between the rest. Perhaps they'll stretch at Gerald Green, but we'll see.
