Okay, before I download this I just want to know..
Will this patch change the shooting percentage on my game and make it harder for me to score baskets? All I want is the roster updates such as the trades, etc.

The NLSC Roster Patch features the following:
02/03 Rosters - Up to date season rosters, no "tweaks". Default ratings system, just a roster update (though I've made some modifications to underrated players). Same gameplay as EA's default rosters.
02/03 Rosters "Uninjured" - Same as above, but ignores all injuries.
02/03 Tweaked - This version of the current rosters uses DK's coefficients for tweaked gameplay. Not optimised for Franchise Mode, game tweaked for lower FG% etc.
02/03 Opening - Rosters from the opening night of the season.
So you can the first version of the rosters (installed in save slot 000) if you want a roster update with untweaked gameplay.
