Iverson's scoring has went tremendously down this seaosn, only averaging 18.9ppg, while shooting 41% from the field. Nash has been hot as of late, averaging a double-double in his last six games. Iverson loves to shoot the ball and it will take alot of team defense to defend him.

Iverson had trouble all game long shooting 5-14 from the field

PHOENIX, March 30 (Ticker) -- Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire looked like the most comfortable person in America West Arena near the end of the Phoenix Suns' rout, and with good reason. Nash posted his 7th straight double-double with 22 points and 12 assists 44 minutes of play, and Stoudemire scored a team-high 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Suns’ who trounced the Philadelphia 76ers 108-83. The victory, coupled with a loss by Sacramento, gave Phoenix (54-17) its first division title since the 1994-95 season.

"I am extremely happy for the guys. They deserve to be the Pacific Division champs," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We really (played great defense). They missed some shots but we overcame that. You know when you don't win on a night like that then something is wrong." After the 76ers took a 54-47 lead into halftime, Stoudemire kicked off the decisive surge with four straight points. Quentin Richardson did plenty of damage, scoring 8 of his 20 points in the 3rd quarter that helped the Suns run off in the 2nd half. "We did not have what it took to stay in front of them," 76ers coach Jim O'Brien said. "They're as good as an offensive team in the NBA. I think Phoenix is so fast and every one of their perimeter guys all shoot the threes and are great drivers."

"Given the fact that we won 29 games last year and no one picked us to be the division champ or a playoff contender, it's a great accomplishment for the organization," Nash said. "I think we have raised the bar and having said that it is not enough." Shawn Marion scored 21 points, but Jackson was held to just 7 points. Playing its third road game in four days, Philadelphia showed little energy after being blitzed in the second half. Iverson scored 15 points for the Sixers (28-43), who are on the verge of drafting in the lottery another season. Phoenix has defeated Philadelphia 16 of the last 18 meetings at America West Arena and finished 14-1 against Eastern Conference teams at home this season.

TIMBERWOLVES VS. SUNS
America West Arena, Phoenix, 7:00 p.m., PST

TV, radio: FSAZ; KTAR 620
Records: Timberwolves, 47-25; Suns, 54-17.
INJURY REPORT Phoenix- Joe Johnson (broken bone in wrist) out indefinitely; Leandrosa Barbosa (broken toe) out indefinitely

KEY MATCHUP: QUENTIN RICHARDSON VS. LATRELL SPREWELL
Streaky is the word that describe these players the best. They can either light you up, or become cold as ice. Srpewell has maintained a solid shooting percentage all season, being the 3rd leading scorer on Minnesota averaging 18.9ppg. Since Joe Johnson was injured, Richardson numbers have went up as well. One of these players will most likely have to score alot of point sin order for their to win tonight.

INSIDE THE TIMBERWOLVES
The TWolves are coming off a 101-83 victory over the Lakers last night. This will be their 2nd game of a 3-game road trip. The TWolves won the first meeting between the Suns earlier this season.

INSIDE THE SUNS
Phoenix owned the TWolves in their last meeting, beating them 115-82. This will be the lastm eeting between the two teams this season and it is the start of a new month which is the last month of the season before playoff time.

Joe Johnson Hopes To Return Before End of the Season

By Josh Greene | March 6, 2005

Joe Johnson confirmed today that he will miss at least seven weeks due to his injury last night against the Portland Trailblazers to his right shooting wrist, but said he would not need surgery and was really hoping that he can return before the playoffs. "Unfortunately, I am done for the most of the regular season," Johnson said. "There is a chance, if rehab goes well, that I can still play close to the end of the season before the playoffs start. It just depends on what the rehab does. I feel pretty good about it.

"It's good news because I've talked to a lot of doctors. It's an injury that could take awhile to heal. I've prayed and asked God to heal me and I've still been going to practice working on running and dribbling and shooting with my left hand and its been great for me. It's unfortunate that I won't be able to help my team that much anymore on the court and try to capture that no.1 seed in the playoffs." Speaking publicly for the first time since injuring his right wrist in the Suns' 110-95 win over Portland on March 5, Johnson called an impromptu press conference today to tell everyone the big news.

"There's 10 other guys out there that can easily finish the season without me if I'm not able to play," he said. "We're going to win games, no doubt about it especially with a player like Jim Jackson filling in for me. We've got to keep doing what we've been doing, plugging guys in there. They don't have time to feel sorry for me. We don't have time to think about who's not out there. "It's a tough loss for us to lose Joe who was having such a great season," Coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We will truly miss him, but Jackson has a hole to fill and it's going to be up to our All-Star players and our bench to get us through the rest of the season."

With only about six weeks left on the NBA calendar, Johnson may not be ready to come back until the first round of the playoffs, or the last week of the season for the last couple of games.

and i even had in my reports things like "since johnson has been hurt"...do you read some of the stuff i put?

Suns Rise Against Timberwolves
Things starting off well in the month of April for Phoenix

Richardson shot 7-11 from the field on April Fool's Day

PHOENIX, April 1 (Ticker) -- Newcomers Steve Nash and Quentin Richardson continue to lift the Phoenix Suns to new heights. Nash scored 22 points and recorded 9 assists and Quentin Richardson added 20 points as the Suns won their first game of the new month in a 114-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. "Everybody did their job tonight," said Shawn Marion, who had 21 points and 10 rebounds. "It was a battle for us tonight and a good test. We stepped up and conquered it. It was just another learning experience for us to help us get ready for the postseason." Richardson, who was nearly scoring 12ppg before Johnson got injured, scored 14 points in the first half as the Suns took a 58-52 lead.

"Q had another good night tonight and he will continue to do that," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. The Twolves cut the deficit from 21 points to 6 by halftime as the Suns broke a record for most point scoring in a quarter with 46 points in tonight’s game. Nash, who’s 7-game double-double streak was over after failing to dish out 10 assists tonight, took over in the 3rd quarter with a bucket and three assists in a 13-2 run that helped give Phoenix a 91-75 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. He an alley oop pass to Quentin Richardson with 7:03 left in the game.

"We had a 21-point lead but let them back in," D'Antoni said. "They are too dangerous to do that, but the guys stepped up, especially Nash." Latrell Sprewell scored 24 points and Cassell along with Szczerbiak added 17 apiece for Minnesota, which moved to 46-26 on the season. "We shouldn‘t have never let them get a huge advantage on us so early," Cassell said. "We have to start games better. That has been our Achilles heel for most of the season." Leandrosa Barbosa was put back into the rotation tonight after doctors told him to wait at least another six days before coming back. "I feel alot better than I did before, so I asked coach to let me give it a go," Barbosa said. He played six minutes in the game, scored 1 point and stoled 3 balls. The Suns will now wait on their starting shooting guard Joe Johnson to return to the lineup sometime this month.
