influence simulated games

Postby sonic1982 on Mon Feb 03, 2003 1:08 am

how can i influence the results of simulated games (of cpu teams playing against each other)? i want to reach realistic standings at the end of the season (e.g. denver not winning divison titles as it happened in my franchise :-)

The only thing I can think of would be to go into players.dbf, and change the "examples" of the stats that would happen in simulated play.

i can't really follow you, what do you mean by "examples"? do you mean the ratings?

Sorry if I confused you. In the file players.dbf, there is a group of columns that are titled like this:

DFGMAD
DFGATT
etc. etc.

These numbers represent an example group of stats that a given player would get in a season. For example:

If a player's DFGMAD is 82, then it's likely that the player would make about 1 FG per game (in a franchise/season).

there is another way and a much better one at that. Open up teams.dbf and find 'HOMEADV' this determines how much of an advantage the home team gets, the higher the number the better chance they have of winning. SOmeone posted this before and I have had good results with these numbers.

Hawks = -100
Celtics = 2000
Bulls = -1800
Cavaliers = -4000
Mavericks = 3800
Nuggets = -4000
Pistons = 2800
Warriors = -1000
Rockets = 1300
Pacers = 3300
Clippers = 1000
Lakers = 4500
Grizzlies = -1500
Heat =-600
Bucks = 100
Timberwlv = 300
Nets = 3200
Hornets = 1200
Knicks =-500
Magic = 300
76ers = 200
Suns = 200
Portland = 2000
Kings = 5000
Spurs = 4000
Seattle = 400
Raptors = -500
Jazz = 600
Wizards = 500

Also if you download Z's roster it updates all d-stats so if you use the home advantage info and Z's roster you not only get realistic season standings, but realistic player stats for the season as well.

You can get my roster patch from here!
It redefined all player's develop stats according to latest 2002-03 statistics.
I hope you'll like it!
