you have to remember the game is based on 2003/04 season where Minny were basically best team....and Micchy started his dynasty on rosters before Andrew did mass rating edits....

What's really annoying (for me,anyways) is that they initially got the ratings spot-on correctly for just 1 team: THE WARRIORS!!!

I simmed through 5 2004/2005 season with a variety of teams only to see GS finish 4th from the bottom in all occasions..

BTW,they are now 13-33 IRL , 27th in the league. Talk about simulation :?

Game 2 Recap: Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Image

Lakers tamed Wolves, Even the Series

Image
Lamar odom played consitently throughout
the ballgame, finished with 28 points and
8 rebound to even the series at 1-1.

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) –- In Game 1, the starting backcourt duo of Wolves burned the Lakers, they assured it won’t happen again. Lakers forced Spree and Cassell sat on the bench most of the game due to foul trouble.

Lakers win this one, 102-98. They lead most of the way but got some scares from Wolves late in the final period. Though Wolves played without 2 of their key players due to foul trouble, they were able to catch up and even took a 6 point lead.

Again this was a close game with Lakers showed some defensive adjustment against Sprewell and Cassell. And they got a big break when both players were called for 2 early personal fouls. Many thought the Lakers will have the advantage from here but they were wrong. Fred Hoiberg, who replaced Cassell, scored 14 1st quarter points to help the Wolves took the lead at the end of the quarter. Wolves lead 29-27 despite Garnett held scoreless in this quarter and Sprewell to just 2 points.

Lakers, made another adjustment, this time to stop the red-hot Hoiberg. They were able to limit him to just 6 points. Without a consistent offensive player, Lakers easily grabbed the lead in this period. Bryant scored 11 of his 13 points in this quarter and Lakers now lead 54-47 after the 1st half. Cassell and Sprewell combined just 9 points compared to 35 in Game 1.

Lakers protected their lead in the 3rd period. Sprewell able to nurse his personal foul and was a factor for the Wolves in the 3rd quarter but got little help from his teammates. Lakers, on the other hand, showed balance scoring in this quarter and still leading by 8 points, 78-71 with one quarter left.

Wolves surprised the Lakers in the final period and were able to cut the deficit to 2 points, 81-79 just 2 and 1’2 minutes gone by in the final canto. They then tied it 83-all. Lakers seem lost and completely rattled in front of Wolves crowd. Wolves then slowly extended their lead up to 6 points until less than 2 minutes left. A 5-0 run by Lakers, al y-up by Odom followed by a 3-point shot by Bryant put the Lakers backing lead, 97-96. Wolves scored in the next possessions but George answered with a clutch 3-points to put Lakers by 2, 100-98 with 59.3 seconds left. Wolves were unable to score and Bryant made it a 2 possessions ballgame. Coming from the timeout, Wolves fans were surprised to see Kandi took a desperation three that barely hit the rim. Lakers just dribble the ball until time expires.

Bryant led the team with 31 points but Lamar Odom was named Player of the Game with his all-game brilliance, finishing with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Mihm, Odom and Butler each have 8 rebounds. Hoiberg, after scoring 20 points in 1st half held scoreless the entire 2nd half. Cassell finished with 9 points before fouling out late in the game.

Lakers were able to steal one game at Wolves home and even the series 1-1. Series will resume at Los Angeles Lakers for Game 3 and 4 will be held at Staples Center.

Post game Interview:

Image
"This was a great win for us. It’s always a team effort. And my teammates showed we will fight until the buzzer sound, we will never give up and that’ s what we showed in this game.”

Image
"Wow, that was a scary win We controlled most of the game but we looked were heading for another collapse. Fortunately, we didn’t give up and we made some shots down the stretch.”

Image
“I’m proud with my boys, we made lots of defensive adjustment and guys executed it well given we only have little time to practice that. Lamar played consistent game and Bryant just didn’t give up late in the game.”

Image
"Fred stepped big for us n the 1st period when most of us struggles. And I think we made some bad decision in the end especially that Kandi 3-point attempt. That pay was designed for me or Hoiberg.”

Image
“that was some bad call from the ref, Lakers got a big break for this bad officiating. That caused us 1 game, we should be up 2-0 instead of an even series.”

Image
“We played good game, I just think the Lakers wanted this game badly and they showed that late in the game when we they were trailing. I’m just hoping, someone will step up in situation like this. KG putting good number but I think he should assert his presence more inside the court.”

:!: Kevin Garnett left early and were not able to comment on Coach Flip Saunders comment.
:!: Sam Cassell later was fined $7,500 by the NBA for for publicly criticizing the officials

Game 3 Recap: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers

Image

Well-Motivated Wolves Surprised Lakers

Image
Latrell Sprewell got his game going after
struggling early in the game, scored
23 of his 25 in the 2nd half.

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) –- Kevin Garnett, criticized for playing with lack of intensity, scored the 1st basket of the game with a thunderous alley-oops dunk. He followed it with 2 other baskets as he scored the first 6 points of the ballgame. Wolves raced to an early 12-1 lead and held on to that lead throughout the quarter. Sprewell again called for 2 early foul and Hoiberg, who replace him, also called for 2 quick foul. Except to those foul woes, Wolves played great early in the game with Garnett finished with 8 points and they lead by 16 points, 29-13 after the 1st period.

Lakers then made a mini-run in the 2nd quarter which helped them cut the deficit to single digit. Atkins back-to-back threes’ put the Lakers with 5 points. But Wolves held their ground and easily recovers. They made a 9-2 run to put their lead back to 12 points. Though not scoring much, Garnett served as an inspiration for his teammate with his energy and intensity inside the court. He was also a monster in the board as he controlled both end of the court. Wolves still lead, 52-41 with Szczerbiak pacing the Wolves with 11 points. Bryant led Lakers with his 15 points.

Lakers again were able to cut the deficit into single digit, they got close as much as 4 points, 58-54. But again Wolves always found the answer in every Lakers run. Again, Sprewell and Cassell teamed up and are the thorns for the Lakers. Cassell, scored 15 points of his 19 points in this quarter while Sprewell, who scored just 2 points in the entire 1st half, scored 11 in the 3rd period. After 3 quarter, Lakers trailed, 80-71.

Wolves successful y protected their lead and they didn’t allowed Lakers to make a comeback. They led 10 points or more most of the quarter with 6 points the closest the Lakers can get.

Sprewell finished with 25 points while Cassell added 22 points. Garnett tallied just 16 points but grabbed 16 big rebounds. On Lakers side, Bryant finished with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists but got a little helped from his teammates. Lamar Odom has a sub-par shooting night, coring just 14 points.

Wolves again took the home-court advantage by winning this game. They now lead the series 2-1. Lakers will try to even the series again when they again host the Wolves for Game 4.

Post game Interview:

Image
“We came flat in the ballgame. Just look, we scored our first point after 3 minutes and we already gave up 12 or more points. I think we don’t deserve to win this game with that kind of intensity in the game. Our backs are against the wall, another lost we’ll give very slim chance of making to the next round. Wolves are a tough team to beat even more 3 straight time. So it’ a must win for us.”

Image
"We struggled, man. We just couldn’t put the ball on to the hoops early in the game, we put our selves in a deep hole and we’re not able to get out of it. We will win Game 4 and we will finish this series here on Game 6.”

Image
"I struggled in the 1st half. Again I got in to foul trouble early in the game. But I found my rhythm in the 2nd half and my teammates set me up since they knew I was on fire.”

Image
“I understand what Coach Flip said last time. And I’ve done what I was supposed to do, to be the leader of this team. But as I said I don’t need to score big numbers coz I know I’ve got good teammates and we just need to play as a team.”

Image
“We played good game, I just think the Lakers wanted this game badly and they showed that late in the game when we they were trailing. I’m just hoping, someone will step up in situation like this. KG putting good number but I think he should assert his presence more inside the court.”

i dont know bro, but i hope i win the next game...
if i lose, il be down 3-1 and it will be hard to win 3 games though i know it can be done....

if i got eliminated in the 1st round, then so be it, i wont cheat...
remember if i got eliminated then it means its off-season time and the 2nd season which feature NLSC Gamers will start early...

but still i try my best not to get eliminated in the 1st round....

Game 4 Recap: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers

Image

Atkins Buzzer-beater Lifts Lakers Passed Wolves

Image
Chucky Akins truggled making shot but
made the most important shot of the game.

Note: Not the actual picture of the buzzer-beater shot

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) –- Chucky Atkins, who struggled not just in this game but the whole series, made his lone- field goal shot with almost no time left in the game and helped to even the series at 2 games a piece. Chucky was 0-8 from the floor before he made that miracle shot, he finished with 4 points.

Again Lakers struggled in the early going of the game. after making their 1st shot, Lakers missed their next 7 shots and were down 7-2. But they played good defense afterwards and slowly came close at 9-7. It became a defensive game as both team struggled with Wolves shoots 38% while the Lakers 33% in the field. Wolvers were leading 21-17 with Garnett already posted 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Game shifted from defensive game to an offensive battle. Both team shot almost 60% from the field and both team scored 32 points. Wolves maintained their lead even with Lakers able to cut it to just 2 points. Lakers displayed balance scoring with Mihm scoring 8 points while Odom and Bryant each scored 7 points, and George came off the bench to score 8 points. Szczerbiak took over the Wolves with his 13 points and Cassell added 10 to make up for Garnett scoreless quarter.

Wolves pull away in the 3rd period as they extended their lead to 11 points. Lakers never gave up and made a run and cut it to 5 points. But Lakers got some anxious moment when Caron Butler injured his arm with 2:41 left in the 3rd period. Butler sat on the bench but Lakers continued to come close to the Wolves. George 3-point shot capped an 11-2 run to make 59-67 deficits to 70-69 lead. Wolves got back the lead. a buzzer beater lay-up by Odom was waive off after referee checked the replay and showed Odom still have the ball in his hand as the buzzer sound. Wolves held to a 2point lead, 79-77.

Caron Butler asked Coach Rudy to put him back in the 4th quarter and tried if he can still play. He made the first basket of the period and it was a 3-point play. But after few more minutes, Butler was taken out when Coach Rudy felt Butler might aggravate his injury. Without Butler, George stepped up and helped the Lakers took the lead at 89-88. They protected it and with 2 minutes left, they still hold a 6 point lead, 101-99. Wolves never gave up and a 3-point basket by Garnett makes it a 1 point game, 107-106. Wolves fouled Bryant and he made the 2 free-throws. From a time-out, Wolves assured either Sprewell or Sczcerbiak will get the ball this time. Sprewell got the ball but was fully covered by Lakers. He passed the ball to Garnett, who then passed to an open Sczcerbiak at the baseline. Sczcerbiak made the shot and tied the game 109-all with 17 seconds left. Lakers made a timeout.

After the timeout, Bryant got the ball and melts the clock. With 8 seconds left, he drove to the basket but Wolves players collapsed on to him. He made a pass to Atkins, who made a pump fake before taking the shot. The ball went in as time expires. Referees checked the replay and it was good.

ImageImage
Los Angeles Lakers celebrated after Atkins made the buzzer-beater jumper
as the referee announced that the basket was good.

Bryant finished with 26 points and 8 assists including that pass to Atkins. Odom added 22 while George has 21 points coming from the bench. Kevin Garnett has another monster game finishing with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 block shots. Cassell has a team0high 26 points but only got 9 points from Sprewell.

Lakers once again even the series 2-2 and it now becomes a best of 3 affairs. Game 5 will be held at the Target Center 3 days from now.

Barring some errors in grammar, this stuff is just like NBA.com's game recaps. Realistic to the core. Nice to see you keeping this thing going, best of luck against KG & the Wolves in the next game. (Y)

BUTLER DONE FOR THE PLAYOFFS

Image
Image

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) May 7 -- Los Angeles Lakers announced that Caron Butler will be out for the remaining of the playoffs due to the injury he got in Game 4 of their 1st round series. In that game, Butler was going for an offensive rebound and was shoved by Garnett. As he went down, he used his hand to break his fall. But he went back in the game but quickly replaced after he felt a pain in his arm.

Image

Later that night, he undergoes MRI and found that there a broken bone in his wrist and need to go surgery. He will missed at least 6 weeks which only means Lakers will need to play without Butler throughout the playoffs.

This injury will be a big blow for the Lakers who also missed the service of Jumaine Jones. Meanwhile, Jones might come back next week and will be able to play if the Lakers advance to the next round.

what a way to even-up the series at 2 games a piece.... damn, caron got injured badly.... and he's out for the rest of the playoffs, what a great loss. anyway, you still got george and jones at sf and this will be a test how tough is your bench..... goodluck with game 5, hope you win....

awesome recaps once again (Y) one comment though, games 3 & 4 is in los angeles not minneapolis, guess you forgot to edit it.... anyway, still great updates....

Do yourself a favor micchy and skip Devean George...

Use Luke Walton as SF, he's good at everything but excels in nothing..

If you want a gap-filler, he's your guy( who did you think the guy in my profile pic was, anyway??? )

Once again, nice work matey... and if you want to beat the Wolves just double-team the hell out of KG and run like the wind to cover openings in the perimeter. That'll cook 'em good...
