I won't continue to buy this series unless I am able to customize player looks like in Live 2004. I like playing with an all-legends roster and making tons of old school faces and jerseys and Live 2005 is very unfriendly for doing this.

I hope the push players for fouls is not the hand check. I don't want to see that brought back. IT was too often not called as foul. Only bring it back if it's called as foul every time. I also don't think the idea of limiting direct passing would be a good one considering regular passing doesn't work right. I never saw direct passing as a problem. What they could fix with passing is not making the man jump out 5 feet to catch the ball and not freeze for 2 seconds after catching it. IF they going to bring back a 5 second back-up violation they need to improve the post play:stop making it so easy to get stolen, stop making it so easy to get block, make the man back up the defender properly, and stop making the man jump out from his spot when you pass down low. Also, if they bring back celebrationg make them do it as they go down court. Too often in games its a source of not getting back on D.

As for what is most pressing whatever improves the realism and gameplay is most important.

Online I don't think they'll allow for you to change the sliders in ranked games, but this is what they could do. They could have 2 or 3 slider sets just like they have different line-ups. IF you're playing an unranked game you can pick from 3 or 4 of the popular sliders out there. In ranked games EA should just decide on which of these slider sets is best and go wit hthat one. Also the other thing is if you join a league allow the league owner to decide on all gameplay settings. But the person should be able to change their in-game settings.

As for gameplay the game seems to easy to turn into a transition game when playing two player. The game seems to have a slant toward fast break play. IT should have a slant toward half-court play and you should have to force the tempo if you want to play that style.

Don't make me take control of a guy as soon as I switch to him. BE like in MAdden let the computer keep control until I move him in case you can't see the guy and don't want to lose a split second on defense. Ofcourse I mean switching on defense.

As for pronouncing names, just add a pronounciation feature similar to what you have in a dictionary to tell you how to pronounce a word.

hallo my friend!where are you from?well i want to send you my ideas because i dont know where else to send them and if you can send them to people responsible!(do a copy and paste!!
1)the steals to be less from the players and not to steal so easily!
2)by pushing the button pass along with the directional stick to have the opportunity to give straight direct pass and a lob pass
3)
0the fakes to be better and to the stars of each team like tracy makcrady to be effective and outside the 3 point line and not to stel the ball of him so easily
4)to have the double team a little bit better and when the help comes to the big guy not to run with such a great speed!and when you pass the ball outside to the free player the defender who comes to him to be from the yard
5)the introduction to be like nba-live 2004 with real nba players
6)to have injury list so you can put players in their 2 the most and frozen their big contracts
7)to have the opportunity and sign players for a few months contracts from the free agents and with little money!
8)to have the opportunity and change the rosters and from the other teams and play like real nba!
Some extra things I want to add!
9)to have introduction of the 5 players of each team at the beginning of each game
10)to watch when the match ends and you go at the menu the results of the other games down at the buttom of the screen like nba-live2004
11)when you jump and in the air you decide to give pass the player who you give him the pass takes a long time to get hold of the ball.make that time less
12)to play the other team multipule defences inside and during the game
13)in some timeouts to have the chance a little bit of stamina of the players to get it high
14)to make the game more difficult to have a level of that because I play it on the more difficult and I found it easy
thans again

Whatever happend to turbo being less each time you go to a higher difficuly? There needs to be a penalty for just running around all the time.Players should get tired faster for overusing turbo especially with players and teams that are not meant to be running teams. Maybe the speed of certain players need to be reduce. Also you should get tired more easily if you use more freestyles back to back over and over. That would also cut down on cheesing. OFcouse none of this matters if they don't turn fatigue on in online games. Seems like something they would have been able to do now easily.

The game speed is simply too high online. ANything over 60 is too high. At that speed all you can do is run and gun. There is no time to think and strategize. We're just reacting to the other player.

Don't completely handicap the post game because you play on all-star or superstar.

Must be fixed in NBA LIVE 2006!!!

Postby janis9494 on Sun Jan 16, 2005 11:14 pm

Ability to not cach offensive rebounds so easy.I controlled R.Lewis and i tipped ball about 8 times in a row.Its like every game. This isnt funny, but sick!!!
Player emotions like,it looks when u have won game or loot in in tight game.
Game needs more realistic things like in real.
Nedds more stats overlays in game,it shows only player name, heigh, weigh, years pro,but no stats(This is vvvvvvbad) :(
The good things in NBA LIVE 2005 are:
*Graphic is very good!
*Allstar weekend
*Player faces are like in real!
Who dont agree me,then say whats not true.

Hi, my first post here so here goes...

- Id like to have a madden type create-a-team feature with the ability to start a dynasty with this team with all the realistic expansion team activities before training camp begins (expansion draft etc)

- I would like offensive and defensive awareness to determine how well the player moves off the ball to a greater degree. A player with low awareness should look lost on some plays (maybe a few animations would help)

- Another nice feature would be player attribute masking. For example, not knowing the player ratings of non-superstar freeagents untill maybe you invite them in for a workout or during a playable training camp. And then you only get a rough estimate of their abilities so you can be pleasantly suprised or disapointed when the season begins. Players from other teams should also be masked unless maybe you scout the team or you have already played them (hopefully this could allow a few suprise breakout players every season as well as some overated overpriced flops)

- If players are free agents for too long their raitings should gradually decrease. But if nobody picks them up, they should maybe take 1 season contracts from european teams (fictional if need be) and you can view their stats and recieve scouting reports keeping in mind the relative strength of the competition they are facing.

- And finally my last suggestion would be to have the option to leave drafted youngsters in their euro/asian or whichever teams they play for for a season or two to allow them to mature. And we should be able to monitor their progress via stats/scouting so that we can determine if they have improved as much as they can at that level and are ready for the nba.

I have to admit a few ideas are influenced by championship manager, but why not? Its a great game! :D

Anyways thats about it for now, sorry if i mentioned ideas already posted.
"They play the game the way it's supposed to be played," Iverson said. "It's not about athletics. That's the game the way Karl Malone and John Stockton play it. It's good for kids to see how the game is supposed to be played."

THEY SHOULD HAVE 3 ON 3, 4ON 4 AND 2 ON 2 MATCHES!!! WHETHER IT IS HALF COURT OR FULL COURT MATCHES, THERE SHOULD BE MORE THAN JUST 1 ON 1 MATCHES....

thanks for putting in the 30 player server thing.. i know i say this everytime i get an opportunity but last semester I brought my GC in every tuesday and thursday and me and 4 mates played a dynasty together with player lock on.. most fun I've ever had.. we hadn't done an alley oop all season then with 2 seconds left in the deciding game of the final we connected with an alley-oop 1 pass in from in bounds pass to win by one point.. we made so much noise we nearly got kicked out of the library (we were in the a/v room).. now imagine that stuff online with clans/teams and virtual leagues (ea wouldnt even need to provide the infra-structure coz it would happen of its own accord).. that my friends will be nba gaming heaven.. and I hope to see you all there later this year

I like the idea of implementing new ratings for players like potential for development, dunk acrobatics and clutch, it would be also cool to be able to pass the ball during lay up/dunk animation, I would make it also imposiible to have players ratings edited in player edit, they should be fixed and possible to develop only in dynasty mode, and last but now least they could introdcue something like a momentum meter for players on fire ofensively as well as defensively, and home-court advantage as well as trash talk and fights :D

Two reasons fights aren't included in the Wishlist:

1. EA cannot include them as the NBA will not allow them
2. I'm in the "against including them" crowd and have final editorial rights. ;)

Hey, Andrew. Thanks for having us take a look at the wishlist before sending.

Have you send EA my idea of "Career Mode" ?
With the all minor leagues and European leagues ?
I think it could be an excellent project for the future.

The Wishlist I sent to EA is identical to the one posted in this thread. I didn't include single player career mode in this year's list as improvements to the main mode of the game (Dynasty) already in place are more popular and stand a better chance of making the game at this point.

How bout not making it so easy to get the offensive rebound after free throws just by missing it a certain way.

Gear & Accessories

All shoes of the year, including some ones from years past, from Nike, Reebok, Adidas, And 1 and Converse
More color ways for every shoe, so they can be given to any player and the color will still be the same as the team uniforms.
Special All-star game shoes
Players’ Authentic gear. (Allen Iverson, "The Answer" gear, and "I3". Tracy McGrady,"T-Mac gear. Some players also have stuff on their armbands.
In Live 2005 some of the colors of the players gear were wrong. How about having the team colors, all of them available to change the color of the gear from home, away, alternate and throwback uniforms.
Have the option for shoes to go with alternate and throwback uniforms
Some players could have special makeup for their shoes. (Like the Jordan Brand athletes have their names or numbers on their shoes. sometimes players have shoes and colors only for them. Like Carmelo Anthony has MELO 15 inscribed on his. The players also have special color ways to their shoes that no one else has, this would make the game better because everyone would be looking to see what color Jordan’s Ray Allen has, or what type of colors do Carmelo have.)
More detailed jerseys and shorts
Players jerseys and shorts should move depending on movements of players
All the Air Jordan shoes.
I know this may sound crazy, but there are not enough shoes.
The Denver Nuggets away jersey should look more realistic. They are too light and should look like the material used for the jerseys.

Give game more realism
Sideline reporters to update the status of an injured player(s) or just give info on certain players

The coaches should be more involved in the game. They should be able to pick up technical fouls and argue and conversate with the referees. The players should also talk to the refs from time to time.
A ref should pass the ball to the player after free throws.
T.V. network sponsors.
Halftime shows
Locker room activities. (Coaches discussing plays and strategies.)
Cheerleaders and Mascots.
During timeouts, you could have the people who shoot T-shirts into the stands for the fans, or have the mascot joking around.
Players offensive nights should very from game to game. (Like the biorhythm on ESPN.)
There should be large audiences when the players are on a street court.
3 way trades.
The players should be in their warm-ups before the game starts.
More variety of dunks. Dunks should vary between the situation and the flow of the game. Dunks should also be dictated by if a defender is in the way, or trying to block a shot.
Bigger celebrations during big games, like the finals. Confetti and balloons should drop from the rafters.
In big games when shots count, the bench should be up and cheering their teammates.
Have players accepting their season awards during halftime of playoff games.
At the All-Star game and Rookie game the player should be surrounded by camera crews and the participating players as he is being awarded the trophy.
During the all-star game and events, you could have cut scenes, where the players are on the court or bench joking around.
Commentators should announce important factors before, during, and after the games.
Crowd should be more into the game depending on game situations.
Have actual N.B.A. referees.
The user should be able to participate in training sessions and workouts in dynasty mode.
During non dead ball situations, the coach should signal the players over to the scores table, until they're able to check into the game; the players should be in their warm-ups and once they remove them, a towel boy should grab them.
Every time a player goes down after a foul, a mop boy should come and wipe the sweat off the court.
A player should be handed a towel or drink when he checks out of a game.
Before tip-off, the players should greet one another, rub their feet on that sticky grip stuff, exchange fist to fist and prepare for tip-off by getting to their places.
More media and camera crew on the sidelines, especially at the all-star game and the playoffs.
The players that are on the DL should be in suits or street clothes; and since every player doesn’t sit on the bench some should sit off to the side by the camera crew.
Assistant coaches should be in the game.
When a player gets injured, trainers should take him back to the locker room
The players should start to sweat at some point. Don't have them all greased up like in ESPN basketball
Players should be able to maneuver to do reverse lay-ups, and dunks, when it is needed. The adjusted shots are ok, but they don't look realistic
Players should be able to swat the ball into the stands, off the glass, and down the court. The blocks should vary with, what type of shot is being thrown up. Also the ball can be pinned against the glass
The season and dynasty mode should show how all-star balloting is going. In dynasty mode you should be able to vote for one player to be on the team that wasn’t selected as a starter.
More crossover dribble moves
More commentators. (Bill Walton, Doug Collins, or someone from ABC or ESPN. I think Steven A. Smith would be a great personality for the game.)
Commentators should have more to say, because the dialogue gets repetitive real fast.
The coaches with the best record at the all-star break should be coaching the game, not the coaches of last year’s squad.
Have the all-star game practices and shoot around. (Where the players practice and do drills in front of fans and show of some of their skills.
Special all-star player introductions. All the players should be introduced and they should have on their team warm-ups
During the Rookie and All-Star warm-ups drills the players should show off for the crowd, by doing fancy dunks and alley-oops.
Team practices. Work on plays, free-throws and scrimmages.
The better a dunk, the better a response from the crowd. If your on the road and you throw one down hard, than the crowd should be in a silent awe, if your at home, you should draw a large roar
If the home team is getting blown out than members of the audience should start leaving.
The skills competition for the All-star weekend.
Halftime shoot around option. This could help players who have been struggling in the first half, or it couldn’t
After a game, players should exchange handshakes and conversate as they leave the court. Stats for the game could be shown while this is happening, the commentators could point out key factors in the game.(This would be after most games, because sometimes the players have to get ready to leave because their plane is on the way, or they have a heated rivalry. In the case of the ladder, the players could just exit the court.)
When time is running out and a team is just holding the ball, some players should begin to untuck their jerseys and began congratulating the winning team.
Player taunts after baskets like Shaquille O’Neal’s gorilla walk, Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles head bang celebration.
Players should sometimes look up to check the score and stats on the scoreboard
After a foul, don't just go to the free throw; have the players setting up for the free throw
Players should congratulate a free-throw shooter.
During a certain number of games, there could be a problem with the shot clock and play could be stopped.
There should be actual body to body contact on some dunks.
An option for a fulltime out and a 20second timeout. (To see how the players and coaches set up during these different timeouts, watch an actual game, and duplicate that into the game.)
When players dive out of bounds towards the bench, allow the players and coaches to help the player break his fall.
Players should be able to fall into the camera crews and crowd. trying to save loose balls
Player’s pre tip-off traditions. (Kevin Garnett slapping talcum powder in his hands.)
During pre-game action, you could show a player/players going through the tunnel, to the teams locker room, with his suit or street clothes on. This player could be a leading scorer or someone who's supposed to have a major role in the game.
Be able to personalize gear for created players.
Better, smoother looking alley-oops. The user should be able to throw the pass in the air and the retriever should run, jump and dunk it. The ones on 2004 look ok, but most of the time the player has to be close to the basket to execute one, and he stands still until the ball gets to him, it looks kind of awkward. It would be more realistic and entertaining, if you had the players running and catching it and dunking it.
For players who are injured or are hurt, but still can play, you should have the option to get on the floor early and stretch, run and jog to help the injury heal quicker.
Be able to split double teams
The ability to fake out the CPU with pass fakes, either while driving to the basket to score, just holding the ball, or a 3-on-1 fast break.
The crowd should react to fancy moves
Detailed locker room areas.
When a player has put up a good performance, he should leave the game to a standing ovation.
During the season mode, during games, you could have the sports ticker show all the scores and stats form other games. (Like on ESPN.)
Sometimes after a player scores, he should throw the ball to the referee, on the sideline, to give to the player who is in bounding the ball.
During the season, you could show in game highlights of other games going on. (Like during timeouts, or breaks in play.)
Better looking finishes on player's who try to draw charges.
It should be tough to score against defenders like Ron Artest and Bruce Bowen. They should hold, grab, and bump you. It should also be hard to get free for open shots with them guarding you.
The player's in the game and the coaches should argue missed calls by the refs depending on the importance of the missed call or game.
Tim Duncan's shots off the glass.
Better-looking floaters and runners.
A variety of more aggressive and powerful tip dunks.
Certain crossover moves should make defenders stumble and rarely fall, when they lose their balance. A good crossover should sometimes freeze the defender, or make him go the other way.
When players miss tip dunks it just looks stupid. Have them actually grab the rim and come down, not come down off balance.
After a good assist, players should point to another, or give a pat on the rear, head, back or chest bump.
Make the scene of an injury look real, teammates crowding around with personal trainers. If the injury looks serious and he is helped off the court, there should be some applause.
Free-throw distractions. (Thunder sticks and posters)
Off the ball fouls.
Off the ball picks and screens, to open up the offensive player for a shot.
Jump ball situations. (Such as both players fighting over possession of the ball)
Replays of highlights should be shown during dead ball situations. Commentators should also comment on moves made in the replay and sometimes use that thing were they highlight when a play is made.( I don’t know what it is called, but it’s a white line, used to draw and diagram what a commentator is talking about.
Players shouldn't swing their elbows when they are intentionally fouled.
Certain dunkers should have dunks only they can do.(Like Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, or Shaq
Longer cut scenes when receiving awards.
Make the net more real too.
Playoffs and Finals logos should be stitched onto the players jersey in those games
More in depth half-time commentary.
There should be a plays of the week in season mode, showing all the best dunks and moves.
During the pre-game fly by, you could show views from outside the arena.
During the Rookie and All-Star games in season and dynasty play, the game should be slowed down, just to add to realism. The one thing that could be done to add to the realism is to slow the tempo down just to make it seem more real. The defense still hustles and tries to stop you from scoring, but in real life there is less defensive pressure, In season mode there are still players hustling on defense and taking charges, that shouldn’t happen. Also shots aren’t really challenged in the all-star games. I don’t know how to explain it, but it doesn’t have that realness that it should. I figure the defense should be more lax and unwilling to cut an offensive player off, if he gets by his man.
The CPU doesn’t substitute the way it should during those games either. The CPU should substitute to allow everyone significant playing time.
There need to be special coaches for the Rookie vs. Sophomore game. They can be just like the special judges for the Slam Dunk competition.
More open court dunk animations. I throw down the same cocked back, two handed dunk all the time.
All shoes should be accessible to all players, because a lot of player’s in the game are not wearing the brands of shoes that are assigned to them in the game.
The commentary for the All-star game and Rookie vs. Sophomore game should be different from the regular games.

Courts

· Actual practice courts in practice mode.

· Famous playground courts

Modes

(1-on-1 to 5-on-5)
32 or 21. 32 can have up to five players trying to achieve the score of 32 to win the game. 21 can have same number of players trying to achieve the score of 21. 21 involves free-throws after a basket. Free-throws are worth 1 point, while regular baskets are worth two points.
Summer League Mode
Should be able to participate in warm-ups before the game; this could also help dictate what type of offensive night the player is going to have.
Preseason games. (These games and the summer league games could be played in the colleges and practice facilities.)
Scrimmages between the teams in practice or in the middle of the pre-season schedule.
Off-season all-star games. (Midsummer Nights Magic and Zo's Summer Groove.)
The all-star game and rookie sophomore game that is played in season and dynasty mode should have the same settings as the game modes.
Slow the all-star game and rookie game down a little.
A Footlocker store. You could purchase socks, shorts, shirts, jogging pants, wristbands, finger bands, and rubber bands, all from Nike, Reebok, Adidas, and And1. These could be for use in practice, 1-on-1 through 5-on5 playground and court settings.
For the playground modes and practice gear idea. (If the player is signed to a certain shoe brand, like Nike, Reebok...etc. than that player should wear that gear during these types of games and game modes.
Players

Different hairstyles, and faces for created players.
Allen Iverson, Ben Wallace and the rest of the player with braids hairstyles should change from game to game.

Glitches that need to be fixed

You can substitute players after the last free throw is made.
Being able to dunk through the backboard
When a team calls a timeout before a replay, you can't view it anymore, because the time is cut short
The commentators can sometime be cut off by one another
The CPU knocks the ball away from you and then dives out bounds with the ball.
A blocked shot after being picked up by a teammate counts as an assist for the person who just has got his shot block.

I hope somehow this gets through, but their needs to be some way of determining how well a player get's to the line. In my Dynasty, I had the leading FT attempter as Kobe, and he was only going to the line 5.1 times a game.

Iverson, Kobe, Wade, Shaq, Dirk need to be going 9-10 times a game, Duncan, KG, Lebron, McGrady, Francis need to be going 7-9 times a game, getting to the line is a big part of scoring, and it hurts the PPG averages of some players.

6)to watch when the match ends and you go at the menu the results of the other games down at the buttom of the screen like nba-live2004
7)when you jump and in the air you decide to give pass the player who you give him the pass takes a long time to get hold of the ball.make that time less
8)to play the other team multipule defences inside and during the game
9)in some timeouts to have the chance a little bit of stamina of the players to get it high
i hope you take notice of them so the game should be better

I think it'll be better if they'll add more freestyle moves into the game and more dunks and alley oops and the crowds shoutin and actin wild....that'll be CRAZY!!!

I'd like All-Star Votes in Dynasty mode like in ESPN NBA. (Y) :)

Here are my suggestions for NBA live 2006
1.Add "break a record in the record book" for task list
2.Add the olympics for every 4 years
3.Make the three point contest more realistic like dont allow players to get 20 baskets so easily
4.In the rookie challenge, make it 20 minutes per half
5.In superstar or allstar, dont allow the computer to block your shots so easily.
6.Add preseason and summer leagues
7.add a ten day contract
8.add skills challenge and shooting stars
9.Dont always allow the players to jump and catch the ball when executing a long pass
10. Since "The Czar" is coaching instead of comentating add Steve Kerr or Doug Collins.

20 minutes per half in Rookie Challenge, you can still put 10min/qt.

The Posterizing Animation

Postby Asphaltdisciple on Fri Feb 25, 2005 12:04 pm

There are a few things I would like to see in NBA Live 2006 but the thing that must be in it is a posterizing animation just like there is blocking animation and in air contact animation. It could be basded on the players dunk, jump, and stength ratings vs the shot blockers block, jump, and stength rating. I believe this would greatly incrase the gameplay because no longer will LeBron James have to be affected by Damon Jones in the games.

Also this is a list of things I would like to see in the game

-posterizing animation
-jump balls
-more activities in all star weekend
-individuals freethrow set up
-lose ball fouls
-see players walking up to score tables when you sub them
-better fastbreaks, non ballhandeling players cut to the basket and slow players don't catch up to fast players on harder difficulties

Thank you for listening to my suggestions and hopefully you have a way to get them to the makers of nba live 2006
