to make short shorts for an entire team, you make the shorts about a third shorter by adding a section of transparency between the jersey and the shorts. For individual players you go to 'body type' in players.dbf and change it to 7.
I have to give credit to Justinian for that little nugget of info.

use your eage to extract the buni from the 50away.fsh (just as an example). you'll see a section of black between the jersey and shorts that isn't there for regular buni files.

that's it. after importing your short-shorts bmp into the fsh file, use eage palette workbench to make that section transparent. am i making sense?

Interesting, but does that only work with the 50s and 60s files? Can you only make short shorts? How about medium length shorts using the same logic? Whenever I try this, I get shorts that are black in the game.....

to be honest, i have only tried changing player 'body type'. i read about it somewhere and it seemed to make sense. if it works for those old all decade teams, i don't see why you couldn't make it mid-length. thats wierd.

on the body type tip: 7 gives you the skinny man with short shorts and 8 gives you normal man with short shorts. i gleaned that off the NBA Live toolkit.

Well then if you have the time to try it, let me know if you get it to work
for a medium length shorts. Would be great to have the different body types available to have other length shorts....

I tried that transparency metod but EAgraph doesn't save an updated palette in a bunni, with the first EAgraph for Live 03 you can see the transparency in the 50, 60 & 70 jerseys but can't be changed.
Maybe there's a command line with NFSHTool that can show you the transparency of the bunni, like the courts or the letters in the jerseys.

I only can have short shorts with bodytype 7, with 8 it gives me a weird long shorts.

i assumed. and i made an ass out of you(U) and me. i don't know what demon was infesting my soul when i wrote on more than one occasion as an authority on making short-shorts fsh files. i messed around with it and i can't get it to work at all. i could swear that i read a post where someone said you could do that palette workbench thingy i had mentioned.

i'm sure there is a way, but its as much out of the scope of my interest as my expertise. i'm over the daisy dukes thing, and i'm not going to lie to you and tell you i'm going to be working on it. here, however is an admittedly far-fetched idea:

i've seen these 'recoded' fsh files all about and i know transparencies in some fsh files (including the uniform fsh) deal with indexed color, black and white versions of the true, RGB graphic. maybe one of the technical wizards around here could mess around with that. anyone feelin me?

FTW, I really enjoy your posts! They are funny. Sure you're not related to Dennis Miller?

Anyhoo, I too hope that someone with more expertise than us can work on this because I want to have Reggie Miller and other 80's era players have medium length shorts, if possible....

i love dennis miller, but he lost points for me for his support of the bush administration. i think my fsh recoding idea has merit, but i don't have the first clue of how to do that kind of stuff. i'm surprised i even know what i do, considering my short-term memory issues.
