NFSHTOOL v1.22 enhanced for more NBA formats @ nba2kstuff!

Postby nba2kstuff on Sat Jan 18, 2003 5:50 am

hello again patch makers and developers!

I have been very busy, but managed to put together some more fun and interesting stuff for my friends here!

finally we have this version NFSHTOOL v1.22 ready, for working on some more of the NBA graphics files formats! most especially there are customizations in this version that work many of the jersey, court, and logo special exceptions. NFSHTOOL v1.22 now correctly identifies and re-inserts graphics type like:

a) the special blet object that employ a multi-scale bitmap with multi-scale transparency mask bulk 10fb LZS compressed!

b) there are also customizations for some special mutli-scale alpha channel formats used special in some court gaphics. (it resolves some unrecognized format errors fshtool had with some court files)

c) there is the ability to more easily overide the alpha8.dat processing using this option as well. this is most especially usefull if you need to control the tranparency of some graphics you may copy from another
template. you can manually edit this file (or copy it from the template) using this option to override the default alpha mode transparency for many of the 8 bit graphics objects (useful for logos!).

All these enhancements to Denis Auroux excellent fshtool are available by using the -nba command
and NFSHTOOL version 1.22:
Code: Select all
c:> NFSHTOOL -nba index.fsh

<-- to rebuild/ bulk import your FSH from your new bitmaps
or
Code: Select all
c:> NFSHTOOL -nba XXX.fsh

-->to export the grahics bitmaps and data to bitmap directory XXX

then the new NBA graphics will be available to customize! these enhancemenst should solve a few more of the problems with the jersey graphics, and court and logo also, even though they may be a little encumbersome to use. but it is 1 option that is availble to help make some more nice patches, untill Brien can make the time from the busy real life work to enhance the superior EAGE for everyones fun!

I'll try to answer some questions about this if I can, and have the time. it is difficult stuff and Denis program is pretty hard! lol!. but if others can help to solve some of the issues, please contribute your solutions also!
thanks and continue to experiment and make some cool graphics (especially the vintage 1s lol!)

peace!

(it might be good to sticky this if neccessary to make it easier for everyone to answer and analyze related issues, thx!)

are you asking me to give you thousands of dollars of additional programming work?

well, before i would consider additional contributions of this magnitude, i make a counter proposal. why don't YOU take the TIME to do the WORK to CREATE a tutorial on your new discoveries of the 2003 court color formats. Surely, you could model your totorial based on Thuan's previous excellent works with your updated discoveries. In this way, you could honour Thuan's previous excellent works, his financial contributions to the nba community, as well as, his passion to teach and share for others!

and if Andrew is honourable, he surely would post your works clearly for others to see, so all of the children here can continue learn and refine their artistic and technical skills.

also, DreamTim, and others. do not take offense for my windows of absence from visting here or replying. this is a large group of postings and difficult to navigate and remember all the various topics and people. also, as a software and hardware design and development professional, our time is spread amongst many other obligations and resposibilties that are of high real life priority.

thank you for your time and interests
